INDEX OF SEMINOLE WAR ARTICLES in the FLORIDA HISTORICAL QUARTERLY 1908-2008 Compiled and Edited by John and Mary Lou Missall SEMINOLE WARS FOUNDATION, INC. Over the past century the Quarterly has published a wide variety of articles concerning Florida history, and many of them have been about the Seminole Wars or subjects closely related to those conflicts. For those of us who study the Seminole Wars, the Quarterly is a treasure trove of valuable information. In order to assist those re- searchers who wish to mine this wonderful resource, the Foundation has put together this index of articles that have appeared in the Quarterly that pertain to the Seminole Wars. We hope you find it useful. The index is organized in a semi-chronological order. This seemed the most useful method. We could have used alphabetical or volume order, but neither of those methods seemed to bring any order to the chaos. Some articles covered large time spans and are located where they appeared to fit best. Other articles are grouped together if we felt the subject matter warranted. Although we feel this is a complete list, we would not be sur- prised to discover that we had missed an article or two, primarily because the title did not suggest a connection to the wars. If you or your local library does not have a full collection of the Florida Historical Quarterly, do not despair. With the exception of the last five volumes, the entire collec- tion of the Quarterly is available on-line at http://palmm.fcla.edu/FHQ. Good hunting! Finally, we would like to thank Dr. Sam Smith and Frank Laumer for their assistance in compiling and reviewing this index.
