
I. Accessing Google Apps for Education How do students access FFCA Google Apps for Education? Every student has an FFCA ID that was assigned to them at the beginning of the school year. Google Apps for Education accounts are linked back to these FFCA student accounts. These accounts are in the form of: First Name + last 3 digits of their Alberta Student Number (excluding zero’s) Examples (Please note these examples are NOT actual accounts): Peter457, Emily32, Yassir23, Billy732 Student Google Apps accounts will simply be their previously assigned FFCA username, followed by @myffca.com Examples (Please note these examples are NOT actual accounts): [email protected], [email protected], [email protected], [email protected]) Students must first activate their GAFE account by changing their password on an FFCA device (Lab PC or Mobile cart laptop) Changing their password activates synchronization and enables their account. Once the student has an active account, there are a variety of ways to log in: Go to http://www.google.com and log in using his or her GAFE username and password ([email protected]) OR Go to www.google.com/a/myffca.com and log in using his or her GAFE username and password. ([email protected]) Once logged in users can access the various applications available through the Google Apps Control Panel located in the upper right corner of the browser. 1.0 What browsers will work with GAFE? Google Apps for Education is an entirely web-based suite of applications, so having an up to date supported browser is important.
