For more than 40 years, Canadian hydropower has provided reliable baseload power to the U.S. electric grid. It has contributed to lower power prices and has helped reduce overall GHG emissions. Hydro’s proven technology is also encouraging the development of other renewables through large-scale energy storage, and acts as a backstop to more intermittent resources such as wind and solar.
