Turn the Page and See How to Create a Newsletter Template … (Continued) law.lexisnexis.com/infopro page 4 Here’s How to Create an e-Newsletter Template With LexisNexis Publisher From the Newsletter tab (beneath Administration), choose your desired workflow and click Start. The next screen displays the applicable tasks for that workflow. Tabs are arranged across the top of the screen so you can progress through the tasks. Choose Content Select topics for your newsletter template from a list of your available topics at the TOPIC Selection tab. (See screen on this page.) Click Next. If you need to exit the template workflow, you can also Save Changes for later. Click the Topic Selection tab and displays a list of all published topics. When Design Your Newsletter Select between non-HTML and HTML views. The non-HTML view on the Design tab allows you to design templates in a visual format without using HTML coding. Your design choices are listed on your left. As you build, your changes are reflected in the viewing screen on the right. (See screen next page.) For example, you can: • Choose to modify font and color options— for your topics, headlines, article abstracts, table of contents, etc. • Select a single- or dual-column layout. • Select a logo from your uploaded images. • Include a Table of Contents and its location. • Truncate headlines to a specific length, if you choose. • Include article abstracts—you choose the length—search hits or neither. • Choose to add comments—and choose to highlight comments if you wish to draw reader focus. When you’re finished, click Next. You can also move back to the Topics tab without losing your choices. (If you need to leave the workflow template, you can also Save Changes.) Select Recipients At the Recipients tab, the simple steps include choosing recipients for your newsletter from the displayed list. Move through the alphabetical list. Move page to page—or filter recipients by first letter of last name to locate recipients more quickly. You can also select default recipients or customize the list per issue. Click Save Changes Your newsletter template is saved. Now you’re ready to return to the Newsletter home page where you can begin sending your newsletter issue, including selecting topics as well as specific articles to send.
