State wise benefits 19 4 PROCEDURE FOR CLAIMING MONETARY BENEFIT The procedure for claiming the monetary benefit attached with the award is as follows :- (a) An application is to be made by the awardee as per the format. (b) Domicile Certificate in original issued by the State authorities (Tehsildar/Sub Divisional Magistrate) is to be attached. In spite of the Domicile certificate, the State Governments had been insisting on School Leaving Certificate to prove the bonafide. Accordingly, the same are also to be attached. (c) Affidavit, in duplicate, from the individual stating that he has not claimed cash award from any other State on Rs. 10 (ten) non-judicial stamp paper duly attested by 1st Class Magistrate/Notary, is to be enclosed (Specimen at Appendix `G'). (d) On receipt of the above at Naval Headquarters (DPS), the Gazette Notification and a copy of the citation will be attached to the application and despatched to the ZilaSainik Board who in turn will forward the same to the RajyaSainik Board, which is the approving authority. 5 DOCUMENTS REQUIRED FOR CASH GRANTS ATTACHED TO VARIOUS AWARDS 1. IHQMoD(N)/DPS on receipt of completed forms as per Check-list will issue letters to RajyaSainik Board. 2. The RajyaSainik Board in turn based on the address proof is expected to disseminate the list to various ZilaSainik Board. The ZilaSainik Boards verify the domicile and intimate the RajyaSainik Board/State Revenue Department for release of monetary grant to the awardees. Since documentation is peculiar to each State, it is in the interest of the awardees to personally liaise with their ZilaSainik Board. 3. No change in domicile status will be accepted once the award has been announced and list forwarded to concerned States. 13 Government of India Ministry of Railways (Railway Board) No. E(W) 202 PS 5-6/99 The General Managers All Indian Railways Sub: Validity of First Class/AC 2, tier Complimentary Card passes issued to recipients of ParamVir Chakra, MahaVir Chakra and Vir Chakra awards in Rajdhani/Shatabdi/Jan Shatabdi Expresses Ref : Board's letter No. E(W) 96 PS 5-6/22 dated 23.02.96 and 04.07.96 Instructions have been issued vide Railway Board's letters dated 23.02.96 and 04.07.96 referred to above for issue of 1st Class/AC 2 tier Complimentary Card Passes to recipients of Gallantry Awards of six types of Chakra series Gallantry Awards namely. ParamVir Chakra, MahaVir Chakra, Vir Chakra, Ashok Chakra, Kirti Chakra and Shaurya Chakra along with a companion. These passes are available for travel from any railway station to any railway station of Indian Railways except on Metro Railway Calcutta. These passes are not valid for journey in Rajdhani and Shatabdi Express trains. Ministryof Railways have now decided that 1st Class/AC 2 tier complimentary card passes issued to PARAM VIR CHAKRA, MAHAVIR CHAKRA and VIR CHAKRA awardees may be made valid for travel in AC 2 tier/AC 3 tier of Rajdhani and Chair Car of Shatabdi/Jan Shatabdi Express trains along with a companion in the same class. It is clarified that passes issued to other remaining three category of awardees namely Ashok Chakra, Kirti Chakra and Shaurya Chakra will not be valid for travel in Rajdhani/Shatabdi/Jan Shatabdi trains as hitherto. A new format of 1st Class/AC 2 tier complimentary card passes in respect of ParamVir Chakra, MahaVir Chakra and Vir Chakra awardees with same colour scheme as presently available in case of all the six Chakra series of Gallantry awardees ie Orange with three Golden stripes across the face of the card pass below national emblem is being printed. However, till such time the new format of complimentary card passes are available, the existing card passes should be utilized by affixing a rubber stamp as under : ªValid for travel in AC 2 Tier AC 3 Tier in Rajdhani, or Chair Car in Shatabdi Express trains alongwith a companion in the same class.º 14 15 INDIAN AIRLINES TRAVEL CONCESSION TO THE ARMED FORCES PERSONNEL RECIPIENTS OF HIGHEST BRAVERY AWARDS (LEVEL I & II) Indian Airlines was offering a discount of 50% on the Normal Economy Class INR Fare to the Ex-Armed Forces Personnel Recipients of Highest Bravery Awards. Indian Airlines have now decided to offer a discount of 75% instead of 50% on the Normal Economy Class INR Fare to the Ex-Armed Forces Personnel recipients of Highest Bravery Awards as under :- (a) Post -Independence Awards Level - I : ParamVir Chakra, Ashok Chakra Level - II : MahaVir Chakra, Kirti Chakra (b) Post -Pre-Independence Awards Level - I : Victoria Cross, George Cross Level - II : Distinguished Service Cross, Military Cross Distinguished Flying Cross,George Medal There is no change in other terms and conditions.
