Honoring the REAL heroes of the U.S. Featured in this By: Jaden Stone and Kimber Lee issue: On November 11, 2015 the students of HHS congregated to show their grati- tude towards those who have and currently are serving our great nation. In Thanksgiving the Veterans Day Assembly, Jody welcomed the student body along with our special visitors who served bravely to keep us free. pg. 2 After JROTC presented our flag and Chamber Choir sang The Star Span- gled Banner, President Thomas Christiansen opened up with a beautiful Sports speech about the National Anthem and the freedom that we all enjoy. Ellie McDonald led the student body through the songs of the different branches pg. 4 of the military. Anyone who served or has a family member who served or is serving was invited to stand during that branch’s song. A movie was shown that quoted Ronald Reagan in his first inaugural ad- Entertainment dress while talking about Veterans and those who are currently serving our pg. 6 country. He stated, “Those who say that we’re in a time when there are no heroes, they just don't know where to look.” The students here at Hurricane High were honored to hear from veteran Schedule of Rowland Hall who served in the United States Army during World War II.
