GENERAL AGREEMENT ON RESTRICTED L/2163 TARIFFS AND TRADE 28 February 1964 Limited Distribution STATUS OF DECLARATIONS ON PROVISIONAL ACCESSION The status of the five Declarations on provisional accession as of 24 February 1964 is as follows: 1. Declaration on the Provisional Accession of Argentina The Declaration of 18 November 1960 was extended by the Proc3s-Verbal of 7 November 1962. This Proc3s-Verbal provides for the extension of the validity of the Declaration until 31 December 1964. The Declaration is in force between Argentina and the following governments which have accepted both the Declaration and the Proc3s-Verbal1: Australia Ghana New Zealand Belgium India Niger2 Brazil Israel Norway Canada Italy Peru Chile Japan South Africa Cyprus Kenya Southern Rhodesia Czechoslovakia Kuwait Sweden Dahomey Luxemburg Tanganyika Denmark Madagascar Trinidad and Tobago Finland Netherlands, Turkey France Kingdom of the United Kingdom United States 1Yugoslavia has signed the Declaration and the Proc3s-Verbal subject to ratification. 2Effective 18 March 1964. L/2163 Page 2 The following governments, having accepted the Declaration, have not yet accepted the Proc3s-Verbal: Austria1 Jamaica Ceylon Mauritania Germany, Pakistan Federal Republic of Uganda Indonesia Uruguay 2. Declaration on the Provisional Accession of Switzerland The Declaration of 22 November 1958 was extended by the Proe3s-Verbal of 8 December 1961. This Proc3s-Verbal provides for the extension of the validity of the Declaration until 31 December 1964. The Declaration is in force between Switzerland and the following governments which have accepted both the Declaration and the Proc3s-Verbal2: Austria Haiti Norway Belgium India Pakistan Brazil Indonesia Peru Canada Israel South Africa Ceylon Italy Southern Rhodesia Chile Jamaica Spain Cyprus Japan Sweden Czechoslovakia Kenya Tanganyika Dahomey Kuwait Trinidad and Tobago Denmark Luxemburg Tunisia Finland Madagascar Turkey France Netherlands, Uganda Germany, Kingdom of the United Arab Republic Federal Republic of Nicaragua United Kingdom Ghana Niger United States Greece Nigeria Uruguay The following governments having accepted the Declaration, have not yet accepted the Proc3s-Verbal: Cameroon Malaysia Central African Republic Mauritania Chad Senegal Congo (Brazzaville) Sierra Leone Gabon Upper Volta Ivory Coast 1Austria has signed the Proc3s-Verbal subject to ratification. 2Portugal has signed both the Declaration and the Proc3s-Verbal subject to ratification. L/2163 Page 3 3. Declaration on the Provisional Accession of Tunisia The Declaration of 12 November 1959 was extended by the Proc3s-Verbal of 9 December 1961. A second Proc3s-Verbal, opened for acceptance on 12 December 1963, provides for the further extension of the validity of the Declaration until 31 December 1965, but it is not yet in force. It has been accepted by: Japan Pakistan Kenya United Kingdom Madagascar United States Niger The following governments, as well as Tunisia, having accepted the Declaration have not yet accepted the second Proc3s-Verbal1: Australia France Nigeria Austria Gabon Norway Belgium Germany, Peru Brazil Federal Republic of Senegal Canada Ghana Sierra Leone Central African Republic India Southern Rhodesia Ceylon Indonesia Sweden Chad Israel Switzerland Chile Ivory Coast Tanganyika Congo (Brazzaville) Kuwait Trinidad and Tobago Cuba Luxemburg Turkey Cyprus Malaysia Uganda Czechoslovakia Mauritania Upper Volta Dahomey Netherlands, Denmark Kingdom of the Finland New Zealand 1Yugoslavia has signed the Declaration subject to ratification. Declaration on the Provisional Accession of Yugoslavia The Declaration of 13 November 1962 is valid up to 31 December 1965.
