Georgetown Township Public Library 1525 Baldwin St Jenison, MI 49428 616.457.9620 At the Georgetown Township Public Library, we strive to provide the best services, materials and programming to meet the growing needs of our community. One of those needs is internet access. This need has never been more evident than in 2020 when many students and adults had to work from home. Despite a widespread advance in broadband coverage in our area of the past decade, the last year has shown that a technology gap still exists within our township, with many households having very insufficient access to no internet access at all. To help bridge this gap, the library offers use of mobile hotspots that provide internet access for up to 10 devices and can be checked out for 1 week. Thanks to a federal grant, we were able to purchase 10 hotspots but as you can imagine in a township our size, the need has far outgrown the resource. To help fund the purchase of additional devices, the library is hosting a virtual race, the Hobbit Day Run. This Tolkien-themed race will include options for participating in a 5K race (for which finishers will receive a t-shirt and medal) as well as a 10K, Half-Marathon, and full Marathon with volumes of the Lord of the Rings series awarded for each additional level reached. Since the race is virtual, participants will have from June 14th until National Hobbit day, September 22nd, to complete the race. Because we want to ensure that this is a community-wide endeavor as well as a successful fundraiser, we would love to include your business as a sponsor at a level that best fits your business. As a sponsor, your business would be mentioned in our advertising (print, website, and social media), have promotional material for your business included in the race bags, and would be listed on our race t-shirts which go to each participant.
