LADB Article Id: 060846 ISSN: 1060-4189 Bolivia: Political Party Leaders Discuss Constitutional & Electoral Reforms by Erika Harding Category/Department: General Published: Wednesday, June 10, 1992 In statements to reporters on June 1, President Jaime Paz Zamora said he believes the nation's political parties are supportive of several constitutional and electoral reforms proposed by his administration. The president and members of the cabinet recently concluded meetings with political party leaders. Oscar Eid, leader of the Revolutionary Left Movement (MIR), said the proposed constitutional amendments would restructure the judicial system and decentralize federal government administration. Electoral reforms focus on selection of the president and vice president. Participating parties included the MIR, Nationalist Democratic Action (ADN), Christian Democrat Party (PDC), Nationalist Revolutionary Movement (MNR), Conscience of the Homeland (Consciencia de Patria-CONDEPA), Free Bolivia Movement (MBL), United Left (IU), and the Leftist Revolutionary Front (FRI).
