The Stephen Sondheim musical is an immensely challenging production for singers, actors, and the orchestra. The student orchestra was part of the set performing from multi leveled risers on stage. The set was a 2 story design built by fairmont stage- craft students. Comments were universally positive: “Some of the best solo singing I’ve heard” “I kept looking in the program to see credits for professional actors” “The show was performed effortlessly” “I think this one goes into the history books” “hands down the best high school musical I have ever seen, and I have seen a lot!” Additional photos available at www.fairmontchoirs.org fairmont to host Summer Strings July 5-9, 2010 Summer Strings is a camp open to all students in the Kettering City Schools Orchestra Program. Students entering grades 7 & 8 meet from 9AM-12PM and students entering grades 9-12 meet from 11AM-2PM. All students meet from 9AM-2PM on the Friday session with a final camp performance at 2PM that day. This is a great opportunity to work with many professional musicians and teachers and improve your skills while having a great time. There will be instrument and age specific training, as well as opportuni- ties to play with all age levels. Camp tuition is $100.00 and checks should be made payable to “Fairmont Orchestra Parents Association” and can be sent directly to the music office at Fair- mont High School.
