Thanks to their endeavors, the Dutch Organisation for Scientific Research (NWO) had granted our project “Dynamics of Neo- Latin and the Vernacular. The Role of Self-Representation, Self- Presentation and Imaging in the Field of Cultural Transmission, Exemplified by the German Reception of Dutch Poets in a ‘Bilingual’ Context” sufficient means to enlist three PhD candidates and one postdoc.1 The result of one of these projects is this thesis.
