TRANSPORT DEPARTMENT NOTICE Special Traffic and Transport Arrangements for Public Procession on Hong Kong Island on 14 September 2014 Members of the public are advised that the following traffic and transport arrangements will be implemented in connection with a public procession to be held on Hong Kong Island on 14 September 2014 in the afternoon. I. Special Traffic Arrangements A. Road Closure (a) The following roads will be closed to all vehicular traffic from about 2.00 pm onwards until the crowd has dispersed and the road closure is lifted: (i) The U-turn slip road between Gloucester Road southbound and northbound; (ii) Sugar Street; (iii) Great George Street; (iv) Paterson Street; (v) Kingston Street; and (vi) Cleveland Street. (b) The following roads will be closed to all vehicular traffic from about 2.45 pm onwards until the crowd has dispersed and the road closure is lifted: (i) Tang Lung Street; (ii) Canal Road East between Russell Street and Hennessy Road; (iii) Canal Road West between Sharp Street West and Hennessy Road; (iv) Wan Chai Road between Canal Road West and Morrison Hill Road; (v) Bowrington Road between Sharp Street West and Hennessy Road; (vi) Lee Garden Road between Kai Chiu Road and Hennessy Road; (vii) Kai Chiu Road; (viii) Yun Ping Road between Lan Fong Road and Kai Chiu Road. (c) The following roads will be closed to all vehicular traffic from about 3.00 pm onwards until the crowd has dispersed and the road closure is lifted: (i) Jardine’s Bazaar; (ii) Yee Wo Street westbound; and (iii) Hennessy Road westbound between Yee Wo Street and Tin Lok Lane. (d) The following roads will be closed to all vehicular traffic from about 3.30 pm onwards until the crowd has dispersed and the road closure is lifted: 1 (i) Hennessy Road westbound between Tin Lok Lane and Queensway; (ii) Slip road leading from Johnston Road eastbound to Hennessy Road westbound; (iii) Thomson Road between Johnston Road and Luard Road; (iv) Luard Road between Johnston Road and Hennessy Road; (v) Fenwick Street between Hennessy Road and Johnston Road; (vi) Johnston Road westbound between Ship Street and Hennessy Road; (vii) Johnston Road eastbound between Landale Street and Hennessy Road; (viii) Queensway westbound between Queen’s Road East and Queen’s Road Central; (ix) Des Voeux Road Central westbound between Queensway and Pedder Street; (x) Bank Street; and (xi) Ice House Street northbound between Queen’s Road Central and Des Voeux Road Central. (e) If necessary, the following roads will be closed to all vehicular traffic at any time until the crowd has dispersed and the road closure is lifted: (i) Percival Street southbound between Gloucester Road service road and Lockhart Road. B. Traffic Diversion (a) The following traffic diversion will be implemented from about 2.00 pm onwards until the crowd has dispersed and the road closure is lifted: (i) Traffic along Gloucester Road southbound will be prohibited from turning right onto Gloucester Road northbound; (ii) Traffic along Yee Wo Street eastbound will be prohibited from turning left onto Sugar Street; (iii) Traffic along Tai Hang Road flyover northbound will be prohibited from turning left onto Kingston Street westbound; (iv) Traffic along Victoria Park Road southbound will be prohibited from entering Cleveland Street; (v) Traffic along Paterson Street southbound must turn left onto Kingston Street eastbound; (vi) Traffic along Cleveland Street southbound will be prohibited from turning right onto Kingston Street westbound; (vii) Traffic along Gloucester Road service road westbound will be prohibited from turning left onto Cleveland Street southbound; and (viii) Traffic along Gloucester Road service road westbound will be prohibited from turning left onto Paterson Street southbound. (b) The following traffic diversion will be implemented from about 14.45 pm onwards until the crowd has dispersed and the road closure is lifted: (i) Traffic along Hennessy Road westbound will be prohibited from turning left onto Canal Road East southbound; (ii) Traffic along Russell Street westbound must turn left onto Canal Road East southbound; 2 (iii) Traffic along Canal Road West northbound near Sharp Street West will be diverted to the up-ramp leading to Canal Road flyover northbound; (iv) Traffic along Sharp Street West eastbound will be diverted to the up- ramp leading to Canal Road flyover northbound; (v) Traffic along Sharp Street West eastbound will be prohibited from turning left onto Bowrington Road northbound; (vi) Traffic along Bowrington Road northbound must turn right onto Sharp Street West eastbound; (vii) Traffic along Wan Chai Road eastbound must turn right onto Morrison Hill Road southbound; (viii) Traffic along the slip road of Victoria Park Road westbound must turn right onto Gloucester Road westbound; and (ix) Traffic along Yun Ping Road northbound must turn left into Lan Fong Road westbound. (c) The following traffic diversion will be implemented from about 3.00 pm onwards until the crowd has dispersed and the road closure is lifted: (i) Traffic along Pennington Street northbound will be prohibited from turning left onto Jardine’s Bazaar; (ii) Traffic along Tung Lo Wan Road northbound will be prohibited from entering Irving Street and must turn left onto Leighton Road westbound; (iii) Traffic along Leighton Road westbound must turn left onto Wong Nai Chung Road (except franchised buses); (iv) Traffic along Percival Street southbound must turn left or right onto Lockhart Road; and (v) Traffic along Lockhart Road eastbound will be prohibited from turning right onto Percival Street southbound. (d) The following traffic diversion will be implemented from about 3.30 pm onwards until the crowd has dispersed and the road closure is lifted: (i) Traffic along Tin Lok Lane northbound will be prohibited from turning left onto Hennessy Road westbound; (ii) Traffic along Stewart Road southbound will be prohibited from turning right onto Hennessy Road westbound; (iii) Traffic along Johnston Road eastbound will be prohibited from turning left onto Hennessy Road westbound; (iv) Traffic along Fleming Road southbound will be prohibited from turning right into Hennessy Road westbound; (v) Traffic along Fleming Road northbound will be prohibited from turning left onto Hennessy Road westbound; (vi) Traffic along Fenwick Street southbound must turn left onto Hennessy Road eastbound; (vii) Traffic along Hennessy Road eastbound will be prohibited from turning right onto Fenwick Street southbound; (viii) Traffic along Tai Wong Street East northbound must turn right onto Johnston Road eastbound; (ix) Traffic along Johnston Road westbound will be prohibited from turning 3 right onto Thomson Road; (x) Traffic along Johnston Road eastbound will be prohibited from turning left onto Thomson Road; (xi) Traffic along Johnston Road eastbound will be prohibited from turning left onto Luard Road northbound; (xii) Traffic along Johnston Road westbound will be prohibited from turning right onto Luard Road northbound; (xiii) Traffic along Johnston Road westbound must turn left onto Ship Street southbound; (xiv) Traffic along Lun Fat Street northbound must turn right onto Johnston Road eastbound; and (xv) Traffic along Landale Street northbound must turn right onto Johnston Road eastbound. (xvi) Traffic along Queen’s Road East westbound must turn left onto Justice Drive southbound; (xvii) Traffic along Garden Road northbound will be prohibited from entering Des Voeux Road Central westbound; (xviii) Traffic along Queen’s Road Central westbound will be prohibited from turning right onto Ice House Street northbound; and (xix) Traffic along Ice House Street northbound must turn left onto Queen’s Road Central westbound. (e) If necessary, the following traffic diversion will be implemented at any time until the crowd has dispersed and the road closure is lifted: (i) Traffic along Tai Hang Road flyover northbound must go straight onto Victoria Park Road flyover northbound leading to Gloucester Road westbound; and (ii) Traffic along Gloucester Road service road westbound will be prohibited from turning left onto Percival Street southbound. II. Special Public Transport Arrangements A. Bus Diversion (a) The following arrangements will be implemented from about 12.30 pm until the road closure is lifted: Bus Routes Direction Diversion NWFB 2 To Eastern District via Victoria Park Road eastbound, Wing Hing Street eastbound and King’s Road XHT 102 and 106 eastbound. XHT 307 To Tai Po via Pedder Street, Connaught Road Central eastbound, Harcourt Road flyover eastbound, Gloucester Road eastbound, Victoria Park Road eastbound, Wing Hing Street eastbound, King’s Road, Hing Fat Street and Island Eastern Corridor. 4 (b) The following arrangements will be implemented from about 1.30 pm until the road closure is lifted: Bus Routes Direction Diversion NWFB 2, 720 and 722 To Central via Harcourt Road flyover and Connaught Road Central westbound. NWFB 2A To Wan Chai Ferry via Tsing Fung Street flyover, Victoria Park Road westbound, Gloucester Road Pier westbound, Tonnochy Road flyover, Harbour Road westbound and Fleming Road southbound, U-turn and Fleming Road northbound. NWFB 2X, 8 and 8P To Wan Chai Ferry via Island Eastern Corridor, Victoria Park Road westbound, Gloucester Road Pier westbound, Tonnochy Road flyover, Harbour Road westbound, Fleming Road southbound, U-turn and Fleming Road northbound. NWFB 15 To The Peak via Harcourt Road flyover eastbound, Gloucester Road eastbound, Canal Road flyover, Canal Road East, Wong Nai Chung Road southbound, Queen’s Road East and Stubbs Road. NWFB 15 To Central via Morrison Hill Road, Canal Road West, Canal Road flyover, Gloucester Road westbound, Harcourt Road flyover westbound and Connaught Road Central. NWFB 15B To Tin Hau via Morrison Hill Road, Canal Road West, Canal Road flyover, Gloucester Road eastbound, Victoria Park Road, Wing Hing Street, King’s Road and Tung Lo Wan Road. NWFB 15B To The Peak via Tung Lo Wan Road, Tai Hang Road flyover, Gloucester Road westbound, Canal Road flyover, Canal Road East, Morrison Hill Road, Queen’s Road East and Stubbs Road.
