Location of the constituent faculties 8 37 The International Relations Office Promotes Université Paris-Saclay overseas & implements the university international policy. It helps, reports and guides staff on signing agreements and partnerships with overseas HEI (higher education institutions). It also liaises with international partners, Campus France, and scholarship providers, supporting visits to the University by overseas delegations. Every school and faculty has an international team (academic and administrative staff members) constantly working with the main IR office. Get started ! Bugdet In the Paris area, forecast a monthly budget of €800 - €900 to cover your expenses. You should be aware that the first month you will have to: • pay the deposit (equal to one month’s rent) which you will get back when you leave after inspection of the room/flat; • pay from one to three months’ rent in advance if you rent private accommodation; • pay for mandatory housing insurance; • if applicable, pay for student health insurance, and also selectand choose a top-up private health insurance scheme. Private landlords will often require a guarantor in France i.e a person vouching to pay the rent for you if you cannot do so. Our advice is to plan a higher budget for the first month. Scholarships: find information from your home institution, your government and French embassies prior to your departure. Please visit CampusBourses, the directory of scholarship programmes. Tip: your student card will make you eligible for discounts of all sorts. 12 Visa Procedure European students Students from Europe (European Union Countries, Iceland, Norway, Liechtenstein and Switzerland) are exempted from visas and temporary residence cards. Only a valid ID Card or passport is required. Non-European students Students who are nationals of a country outside Europe and who register for the first time in a French university must obtain a visa. For a short stay (less than 3 months), you need a short stay visa which costs €80. You can obtain it at a French Consulate in your home country. Some countries may also have exemption agreements for short stays. For a longer stay (more than 3 months), you need a long stay visa, which costs €90 and you can obtain it at a French Consulate in your home country. • If you are a national of a CEF procedure country, you must go through the application “Etudes en France”. This procedure concerns 37 countries. Visit CampusFrance • If you are a national of a country not concerned by the CEF procedure, the consulate or the French Embassy in your home country will tell you how to proceed. More information : French government website and OFFI Do not forget to apply for the visa at least 3 months before your departure. 13 Health protection European Students If you are a citizen from a European country (EU, Iceland, Norway, Liechtenstein and Switzerland) : before your arrival in France, you should hold a valid European health card in your country. Its validity should cover the duration of your studies in France. You will be exempted from registering with the student health
