The Greens Convenor in conjunction with the Head Greens Keeper will decide when the course is playable. Noncompliance may lead to handicap suspension These are the procedures required by our Competition Committee. The Council fully back the Competition Committee in this respect. COMPETITION RULES SHEET 1. Before teeing off, competitors must ensure that their names are signed in the Competition Book, and that their Fee have been placed in the Box. They should also sign in on the computer where applicable. Non-compliance will mean disqualification. 2. No member whose subscription fee is unpaid is eligible to receive a prize in any competition after 31st March 2015. 3. In matchplay competitions, it is the duty of both players to arrange the match. Matches not played by the specified date will be disqualified by the Competition Committee. 5. SLOW PLAY RULE: Groups unable to hold their place on the course must allow faster groups to play through. Loss of one clear hole may constitute slow play. Also applies to searching for lost balls. 6. Reported and proven breach of this rule in competitions shall, at the discretion of the Competition Committee, result in either a stroke penalty or disqualification being imposed. 7. Any enforced changes in competition rules or regulations will be posted on the notice board or in the competition book. Competitors are advised to check for any rule changes before teeing off. 8. A ball coming to rest on another green must be dropped one club length from the nearest point of relief, not nearer the hole. Tees are an integral part of the course. Any area cut short is fairway, otherwise it should be played as rough. 9. NO MEMBER OR VISITOR SHALL PURCHASE GOLF BALLS FROM CHILDREN OR OTHER UNAUTHORISED PERSONS ON THE COURSE. 10. Cards must be returned to Competition Box - COMPLETED OR NOT. All scores should be retained on computer. They should not search for five minutes before doing so. They should not continue play until the players following them have passed and are out of range. When the play of a hole has been completed, players should immediately leave the green. Priority on the Course In the absence of special rules, two-ball matches should have precedence over, and be entitled to pass, any three or four ball match. A single player has no standing and should give way to a match of any kind. Any match playing a whole round is entitled to pass a match playing a shorter round. CARE OF THE COURSE HOLES IN BUNKERS Before leaving a bunker, a player should carefully fill up and smooth over all holes and footprints made by him. REPLACE DIVOTS, REPAIR BALL MARKS AND DAMAGE BY SPIKES Through the green, a player should ensure that any turf cut or displaced by him is replaced at once and pressed down and that any damage to the putting green made by a ball is carefully repaired. This will be done automatically after each competition. A Player must not make an upward adjustment themselves, Players must reduce their handicap immediately before playing in another competition. If the competition standard scratch (CSS) is known they must use this, if not he must reduce his handicap by the standard scratch (SSS-70).
