Over the off-season we have been working extremely hard on the tournament schedule as well as the men’s, women’s and junior golf programs. Our goal this season was to maintain a calendar that again was consistent moving forward year to year. We believe this will make your lives easier as you can plan out your personal calendars with the confidence that our Major Club Events will have consistent dates annually. We are all getting excited about the upcoming season and wanted to share with you some information that will en- hance your experience at Colorado Golf Club. We will continue to have the sign-ups for golf events online using www.coloradogolfclub.com Registration opens for most golf events on May 1, 2017 As in the past, we will be sending separate entry forms for The Paintbrush and The Wildflower. A reminder for all Club events that our cancellation policy is as follows: If withdrawing from a social event or golf tournament more than 48 hours in advance, there will be no charge. If notice is less than 48 hours and the staff can find a replacement, there will be no charge. If less than 48 hours and the staff cannot find a replacement, 50% of the event charge or entry fee will be charged to your member account. For the Paintbrush & the Wildflower, the window will be 7 days rather than 48 hours. We will offer a $50.00 green-fee inclusive of golf cart and waive the caddie policy for any member and their guests starting at 3:00 pm in April, May and Octo- ber and at 4:00 pm from June through September. Members are welcome to play as many holes as they like during this time. Junior Golf / Family Program: There will be no charge for children under the age of 16 to ride in a golf cart if they are accompanied by an adult. If any adult member plays with a junior guest under the age of 18 the green fee inclusive of cart will be $75. An adult member accompanying a group with two or more junior guests is exempt from the caddie policy. 2017 Local Rules The Detailed Listing of all Local Rules are in The Locker Rooms and on the Notice to Competitors for all Events Immovable Obstruction: All roads, cart paths, stone staircases, and stakes supporting trees are immov- able obstructions. In addition, when connected to cart paths, all crushed col- ored gravel pull offs and walking paths, as well as buried wood bollards are deemed to be part of the obstruction. Immovable Obstructions near the Putting Green: In addition to relief under Rule 24-2, if a ball lies through the green and an obstruction on or within two lengt of the putting green and within two club lengths of the ball intervenes on the line of play between the ball and the hole, the player may take relief. Aeration Holes: Relief may be taken, through the green, for a ball that comes to rest in or on an aeration hole. Stones in Bunkers: Stones in Bunkers may be removed with no penalty Embedded Ball: Through the green, a ball that is embedded in its own pitch-mark in the ground may be lifted, without penalty, cleaned and dropped as near as possi- ble to where it lay but not nearer the hole. The ball when dropped must first strike a part of the course through the green. Distance Measuring Devices: For all CGC events a player may obtain distance information by use of a dis- tance-measuring device. Ball Drops: A ball that enters the hazards on Hole #11 and # 17 will provide the player with the extra option under the Rules of Golf to use the most forward tee as a ball drop, under the normal penalty of 1 stroke. Wire Supported Trees: If such a tree interferes with a player's stance or area of his intended swing, the ball must be lifted, without penalty, and dropped in accordance with the procedure prescribed in Rule 24-2b (Immovable Obstruction). Accidental Movement of a Ball on a Putting Green (New for 2017) Rules 18-2, 18-3 and 20-1 are modified as follows: When a player’s ball lies on the putting green, there is no penalty if the ball or ball-marker is accidentally moved by the player, his partner, his opponent, or any of their caddies or equipment. The moved ball or ball-marker must be replaced as provided in Rules 18-2, 18-3 and 20-1. This Local Rule applies only when the player’s ball or ball-marker lies on the putting green and any movement is accidental. 2017 Pace of Play Guidelines All play must be completed within 4 ½ hours or less of their original starting time. In order for this to be accomplished players must reach the below checkpoints at or below the allotted time (15 minutes per hole): Through Hole 4 in 1 hour Through Hole 8 in 2 hours Complete the Front 9 in 2 hours 15 minutes Through Hole 12 in 3 hours Through Hole 16 in 4 hours Complete 18 Holes in 4 hours 30 minutes Definition of "Out of Position" The first group(s) to start will be considered out of position if, at any time during the round, they do not meet the above check points. Any following group will be considered out of position if it (a) has not met one or more of the above checkpoints and (b) reaches the tee- ing ground of a par-3 hole and the preceding group has cleared the next tee; reaches the teeing ground of a par-4 hole and the putting green is clear; or reaches the teeing ground of a par-5 hole when the preceding group is on the putting green. Both (a) and (b) must apply for a group to be out of position. Professional Staff Procedure for Addressing Pace Inform the group of their position on the course and that they are behind, also let the group know that we will be watching their pace over the next few holes. If the group is still behind, inform the member that they are still behind and at this time and will be required to pick up their golf ball and proceed to the hole that puts them back into position. Once a member of the staff has asked a group to skip a hole, or if any group completes 18 holes in more that the prescribed amount of time, the players’ names will be recorded, and will be passed on to the Golf Com- mittee for further discussion of options to ensure that their future pace of play falls within the club’s guidelines. If a member has more than 1 in- stance of an issue with their pace of play, they will be prohibited from playing prior to 10:00am on weekends and holidays, and will be restricted with guest privileges until after 1:00pm for 30 days. Saturday-Sunday and Holiday Pace of Play In order to ensure that members have an enjoyable time during our mem- ber only periods of tee-times we require that all rounds of golf with tee- times prior to 9:00am complete their rounds in 4 hours or less. Any mem- bers who feel that this would be unattainable for their groups are encour- aged to tee off after 9:00am. 2017 Music Policy Members and their guests are permitted to play music on personal portable speakers and listen to music while using the facilities at Colorado Golf Club under the following parameters: Practice Facility Music is permitted at the Practice Facility ONLY WITH THE USE OF HEADPHONES. In order to provide the best practice environment for all members and guests, amplified music is not allowed on the practice tee, short game area or putting green.
