Consolidated Report on Payments to Governments 2019 Financial Year

1 STRABAG SE Consolidated report on payments to governments 2019 financial year INTRODUCTION With the following consolidated report on payments to governments, STRABAG SE fulfils the reporting obligation as defined by Section 267c of the Austrian Commercial Code (UGB) for its subsidiaries in the extractive industries. STRABAG SE makes these payments for, including but not limited to, the quarrying of natural stone, gravel and sand. The extractive activities not only serve the extraction and production of minerals in the respective countries but also help to secure jobs as well as ongoing investments in plant and equipment. DEFINITIONS The following terms used in this report are defined and explained below: Extractive subsidiary An extractive subsidiary is an undertaking with activity in the exploration, prospection, discovery, development and extraction of minerals and other materials. The specific economic activities are listed in Section B, Divisions 05 to 08 of Annex I to Regulation (EC) No 1893/2006. A subsidiary is classified to a respective economic activity using the statistical classification of economic activities in the European Community, or NACE class, of the respective company regardless of its main economic activity. Secondary activities in one of the aforementioned classes are not considered. Government Government means any national, regional or local authority or a department, agency or undertaking controlled by that authority in an EU member state or third country. Payments Payments include both monetary payments as well as payments in kind. The report presents the total value of the contributions in the financial year per government, classified by seven types of payments. This includes payments for production entitlements (e.g., quarry fees), taxes on income, production or profits (e.g., landscape protection fees), royalties (e.g., rental fees), dividends, bonuses, licence fees and payments for infrastructure improvements. If no payments are made within these categories, this is not presented separately in the report. Payments which cannot be classified under one of the seven types of payments are not presented in the report. Payments need not be classified to one of the seven types of payments if they are below € 100,000 per payment type and per government. The payments are reported in the column “Remainder”. 2 Project A project is the totality of operating activities that are governed by a single contract or agreement, or by multiple such agreements if they are substantially interconnected, which form the basis for payment liabilities to governments. The present report takes into account especially the characteristic of the operating activities in the respective state and thus a geographic classification of the projects. MATERIALITY LIMIT Payments to all agencies of a government which are below a total of € 100,000 in a financial year are not reported. CURRENCY The report is presented in €. Currency conversion is made using the respective exchange rate at the time of payment. The values are stated exactly to € precision.
