They were performing it in Chalmuna's Cantina when Luke Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi entered it in search of transport from Tatooine to Alderaan. Shortly after their arrival, Kenobi and Skywalker had a scuffle with Ponda Baba and Cornelius Evazan, interrupting the performance of Modal Knots, but when the noise subsided they continued the song. Ka-B.C., quincy. Figrin D'an and Modal Nodes is a song performed by Figrin D'an and Modal Nodes. One of their favorites, he played them in the Cantina Chalmun Cosmodrome when Luke Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi entered to find a pass from Tatooine in 0 DBY. Kenobi and Skywalker got into a fight with the patrons Ofda Baba and Cornelius Evazan shortly after arrival, interrupting the game Modal Nodes, but when the fracas went quiet, they resumed the song. The modal nodes performed it again in Chalmun in the same year, during the Galactic Empire's broadcast of life on Tatooine. Bartender Akmena's own song Goodnight, but Not Goodbye shared many elements of her instrumental programs with the song Mad About Me. Years later, the Reelo Baruk on Nar Shaddaa retained the song as an ambient music. The contents of The Show Mad About Me was written at some point to 3643 AB. Toydar garbage dealer Watto often sang a tune to himself in his shop in Mos Espa, on the planet Tatooine. By 0 DBJ the song became a favorite of the band Bith jizz Figrin D'an and Modal Nodes. The melody, though rather nondescript, was inflatable, and the performance of Modal Nodes was particularly upbeat. In 0 DBY Modal Knots got a job as a regular group at the Chalmun Cantina Cosmodrome in Mos Eisley. On the day that Jedi Obi-Wan Kenobi and his protege Luke Skywalker arrived in Mos Eisley in search of transportation from Tatooine, the band quarreled over the song's choice before choosing Mad About Me. The band, however, was unaccustomed to performances in places like Chalmun's, and their performance was not key and tempo, clearly noticeable to visitors with sensitive hearing, like Chadra-Fan Kabe. Shortly after they began, Kenobi and Skywalker arrived; at the entrance, Skywalker was persecuted by two patrons, Ponda Baba and Cornelius Evazan. When the situation turned violent, Kenobi pulled out his lightsaber and cut off Baba's hand. Where the band, more experienced with cantina, would continue to play in harmony with the chaos around them, Modal Nodes quickly stopped, but when the fracas s healed, they picked up the place where they left off and finished the song. Later that year, Modal Nodes played Mad About Me for an interplanetary imperial broadcast about life on Tatooine. They were again interrupted, as the Empire announced that it was imposing a curfew on the Tatu system, effective immediately. The song, which Akmen's bartender sang to encourage his clients to leave, Goodnight, but not Goodbye, had instrumental instruments very similar to Mad About Me, which were also played by Modal Nodes. The following year, Mad About Me got a lot of cantina games all over Tatooine. At 12 ABY the bar on Nar Shaddaa, owned by Reelo Baruku, played as ambient music. ExcerptEdit Behind the scenesEdit Can you imagine a few creatures in the next century to find some 1930s Benny Goodman swing-band music in a time capsule or under a rock somewhere- and how they might try to interpret it? (George Lucas) Cue under the name Cantina Band was scored by John Williams for Star Wars: Episode IV New Hope, released in 1977. While he got his name in the universe, Mad About Me, from the story Empire of the Blues: The Tale of Devaron's 1995 Tales from Mos Eisley Cantina, he called the Cantina Band on many of the film's soundtracks. The play is a rare example of a music source in Star Wars films - music that doesn't exist from the universe on the soundtrack but plays diegetically characters in the film. Along with the corresponding play Cantina Band #2, this is one of two such signals to appear in New Hope. Director George Lucas originally suggested including a jitterbug-like piece in the film, following the example of jazz musician Benny Goodman's music. As his inspiration, Lucas had an idea of creatures in the distant future, trying to create his own version of Goodman's music style.
