Right-handed pitcher Jharel Cotton was recalled from Triple-A Nashville and will start this afternoon’s 1:05 p.m. EDT game at Yankee Stadium. Hahn was removed from his last start on Tuesday, May 23 after two innings and 51 pitches. He has appeared in nine games this season, including eight starts, posting a 1-4 record with a 3.81 ERA. In each of his seven starts prior to Tuesday, he had allowed three earned runs or fewer. Cotton began the season in the A’s rotation and started seven games before being optioned to Nashville on May 11. With the A’s, he allowed 22 runs in his four losses but just four in his three wins. He is 1-3 with an 8.27 at home but is 2-1 with a 2.60 ERA away from the Coliseum. In two starts with Nashville, he recorded a pair of wins and allowed three earned runs in 12 innings pitched. In his most recent start on May 21, he allowed just three hits in seven scoreless innings, striking out nine while throwing 62 of his 90 pitches for strikes.
