No National Federation may develop its own Competition Rules that are contradictory to these WSB Competition Rules. The AIBA Technical Rules also apply to WSB Competitions. DEFINITIONS “AIBA” means the International Boxing Association; “AIBA Competitions” means any Boxing Match, Competition, Event, League or Tournament which is authorized and approved in accordance with the AIBA Technical Rules and AIBA 3 Programs Competition Rules (AOB, APB and WSB); “AIBA Official Boxing Equipment Licensee” means the contracted licensee of AIBA who is approved to produce the official equipment for use at all WSB Competitions; “AOB” means AIBA Open Boxing; “Bout” means the boxing contest between two Boxers taking place as part of a competition; “Boxer” means any athlete registered by an AIBA National Member Federation and a member of AIBA; “Boxer’s Agreement” means the standard form of contract issued by WSB for the World Series of Boxing entered into between each Boxer and a Franchise; “Coach Certification” means the permission to act as a Coach in AIBA Competitions granted by any National Federation, after the person passes examinations and obtains a certificate; “Competition Official” means any person appointed or certified to act as a Referee, a Judge, a Supervisor, a Ringside Doctor, an International Technical Official or any assigned position in AIBA Competitions; “Competition Year” means each consecutive annual period from July 1 to June 30; “Confederation” means each AIBA continental affiliated organization; “Disciplinary Code” means the code governing disciplinary matters applicable to AIBA, each Confederation, each National Federation and any Official, including Competition Official, or Boxer; “Exhibition Match” means any boxing competition organized by a Franchise from time to time during the Competition Year involving a Squad and which is not a Regular Season or Play-Off Match but follows the same rules as a Match; “Field of Play (FOP)” means the competition area which extends to 2 meters from all 4 sides of the ring where only Competition Officials can enter; “Franchise” means the entity granted the right by WSB to operate a Team in the World Series of Boxing and to compete with a Squad of Boxers in Matches; “Franchise Bandage/Glove Inspector” means the individual appointed by each Franchise for the purpose of inspecting the bandages of the Boxers of the opponent Team prior to the Bouts; “Match” means any Bouts between two Teams that takes place consecutively on the same day and in the same location; 3 “Match Staging Regulations” means the regulations published and/or adopted by WSB from time to time relating to the staging of any Match, and which will be provided to the Franchises prior to the start of each Season; “Medical Handbook” means the rules published by AIBA in relation to the medical standards required to be observed by a Boxer and by any other Official prior to, during and after any competition; “National Federation” means a legal entity recognized by AIBA as the governing body for the sport of boxing is its respective country; “Medical Restriction Period” has the meaning given to it in the Medical Handbook; “National Level Competitions” means the boxing competitions organized and/or sanctioned by a particular National Federation and to which only Boxers registered from that National Federation participate; “Olympic Year” means the year in which the Summer Olympic Games are held; “Play-Off Match” means any Play-Off Match between Franchises in the World Series of Boxing which takes place at the conclusion of all Regular Matches to decide the final World Series of Boxing standings at the end of each Season; “Rules” means the AIBA Technical Rules, AIBA 3 Programs Competition Rules (AOB, APB and WSB), AIBA Code of Ethics, AIBA Disciplinary Code, AIBA Procedural Rules, AIBA Anti-Doping Rules AIBA Medical Handbook and WSB Transfer Rules; “Season” means the period of time in each Competition Year during which the World Series of Boxing do take place, commencing one month before the first Match of the World Series of Boxing and ending fifteen days after the last Match of the World Series of Boxing; “Seconds” means the Coaches or Trainers who are certified by AIBA and who are allowed to act in the corner of the ring; “Squad” means a Squad of Boxers employed from time to time by a Franchise from which the Team is selected; “Supervisor” means the person who is appointed by WSB to be responsible for all technical and competition related issues in WSB Competitions; A Supervisor in WSB must be certified for all AIBA Competitions; “Team” means the members of the Squad representing a Franchise in any Match; “Team Officials” means the Team Managers, Coaches and Doctors entered by a Franchise in any WSB competition but does not include the Boxers; “Team Roster” means the list of Boxers submitted by a Franchise to compete in any one Match; “WSB” means the World Series of Boxing as organized and administered by the World Series of Boxing SA which was created and is owned by AIBA. 4 COMPETITION FORMAT 1. WSB Regular Season In the Regular Season Franchises will be split into groups as determined by WSB. The WSB Group Draw will be conducted to define the position of each Franchise within a group. 1.1. Team Ranking 1.1.1. During the Regular Season the following points will be attributed: • Score, 5-0, 4-1, 4-0, 3-0, 2-0, 1-0: the winning Team will get three (3) points and the losing Team will get zero (0) points; • Score 3-2, 3-1 or 2-1: the winning Team will get three (3) points and the losing Team will get one (1) point; • Draw: each Team will get two (2) points; • Cancellation: the Team that cancels a Match (where such cancellation is due to the occurrence of a Force Majeure Event - as defined in the Franchise’s Agreement) will be automatically deemed to have lost by 5-0 and above mentioned allocation of points will apply. 1.1.2. The overall ranking of the Teams will be decided by the highest number of points won during the Regular Season. In case of equal points, it will be decided by (in descending order): 1. Least number of Walkovers 2. Superior number of Matches won among the Teams in question (on a head to head basis) 3. Superior number of Bouts won among the Teams in question (on a head to head basis) 4. Superior number of Matches won 5. Superior number of Bouts won 6. Superior number of accumulated individual points during contested bouts (for clarification purposes the following decisions are awarded 150 points for the bout: KO, ABD, RSC, RSC-I, DKO) 7. Highest number of Knockouts 8. Coin toss 1.1.3. The Host Team, with the approval of the Supervisor, may change the Bout order of a Match prior to the Technical Meeting. 1.1.4. Where the cancellation of a Match is for a reason other than the occurrence of a Force Majeure Event, the Franchise responsible for the cancellation will, in addition to the consequences of article 1.1.1of the Competition Format have 3 points deducted from its Team ranking. In addition to this sanction, the infringing Franchise will have to pay a financial penalty
