Section 102 provides that a person who is employed in a public sector service may take leave of absence to contest a State election and must resign if elected. Section 103 provides that if a person who is employed in a public sector service resigns from the service to contest a Federal election, the person is entitled to be re-appointed to the service if the person fails to be elected.
