Training will focus on: - new Information and Communication Technologies as a means of rendering Museums and museum collections accessible to everyone; - new Information and Communication Technologies as a means of a museum fond preservation – the electronic data base creation and the international standard for recording minimal data on movable cultural property adoption; - new Information and Communication Technologies in a museum exhibition, museum education and museum PR. Special Session thematic will include experts’ papers in such spheres: - intellectual property and exclusive property rights in Russian legislation and a practice of the law enforcement; - the UNESCO convention 1970 on the Means of Prohibiting and Preventing the Illicit Import, Export and Transfer of Ownership of Cultural Property and other national and international juridical documents, which regulate import and export of cultural heritage objects. Basic objects and contemporary tendencies of the law enforcement practice. The Regional Thematic Training continues the cycle of national and regional UNESCO/ICOM trainings conducted with UNESCO and IFESCCO support for CIS countries in 2008-2010. The Training is prepared on the basis of the UNESCO/ICOM Museum Studies Training Package issued within the UNESCO and IFESCCO projects for museum specialists in 2010. It will be the final stage of the Regional capacity-building thematic trainings on museum management for CIS countries organized in 2011-2014. This event will be held in the State Hermitage in collaboration with the Russian Committee of International Council of Museums (ICOM Russia) and with the support of the UNESCO Office in Moscow and the Intergovernmental Foundation for Educational, Scientific and Cultural Cooperation (IFESCCO). 5 15-18 November 2013, Saint Petersburg, Russian Federation The leading specialists in the area of museum management, IT and museology and representatives of the of museums from the target countries of the project: Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, the Republic of Moldova, the Russian Federation, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, and Ukraine will participate in the Training as nominated experts and trainers. Special attention is paid to issues of the informational ensuring of the basic aims of the museum activities: registration, storage, study and popularization of the cultural heritage. As well issue of the modern informational technologies usage for accessibility of a museum collections ensuring will be discussed. Special session is devoted to the UNESCO convention 1970 on Means of Prohibiting and Preventing the Illicit Import, Export and Transfer of Ownership of Cultural Property and to the issue of the Intellectual property and the exclusive property rights and a practice of their law enforcement. The Training is a systematized exchange of experience on a certain methodology. During three days museum specialists from CIS countries will be involved in the active work. The program of the Training includes lectures and presentations of trainers/experts from the largest museums, the educational institutions and companies which create new technologies for museums of the Russian Federation, as well as museum specialists from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, the Republic of Moldova, the Russian federation, Tajikistan, Ukraine and Uzbekistan. An important role in the Training methodology belongs to a practical work: exercises and creative assignments, role plays will allow the modeling of algorithms of the future multimedia, digital and informational programs and products. Discussions and “Q and A” sessions are not less important; in the course of them the participants of the Training can give their opinions on the considered issue and their own unique experience, ask questions or consult with trainers/experts on specific practical problem. In the framework of the Training practical work will be realized in a common group and in a small groups as it allows working over the structure of projects in the sphere of informational technologies and facilitates more direct and close professional networking and enhances the spirit of understanding and partnership. Each working session of the Training will last for two hours and will consist of: lecture, discussion and practical workshop. Special session in the Training frameworks will include three papers, discussion and consultation of experts. Considering the composition of participants and on their mutual consent, Russian language was chosen as a working language of the Training and the expert meeting.
