v1,2 Final Version 14/06/2017 Foreword 1 Foreword This Plan has been produced by the Astbury and Moreton Neighbourhood Plan Group on behalf of Astbury and Moreton Parish Council after months of study, research and consultation with the local community. We have also worked closely with Cheshire East Council. We have consulted with the community through open days, interest group meetings and a survey and we believe that this Plan reflects the views of our community. A strong message emerging from the consultation process was that the local people are proud of the parish character and have a very strong desire to retain it. This was key to developing the Plan Vision. The aims and policies of the community have all been derived from the Vision and are detailed in this Plan. We strongly believe that this Plan is robust and when formally made will provide the necessary guidance for Astbury and Moreton until 2030. John Carter Chair of Astbury and Moreton Neighbourhood Plan Group Historical Context The neighbouring parishes of Newbold Astbury and Moreton cum Alcumlow are located on the south east boundary of Cheshire, contiguous with the Staffordshire border. The total area of the Parishes is 1,613 hectares with a population in recent years averaging 650 persons. photo 2: Astbury Parish Church of St. Mary (Grade I listed) 14/06/2017 v1,2 Final Version 3 Astbury + Moreton Neighbourhood Plan Astbury comes from the corrupted
