Eighteen gardeners entered the competition this time and the standard was very high. This popular competition attracted entries from all four Ward in our community and it was a joy to see the mix of gardens both ornamental and productive in their planting, colour combinations, design and provision of habitats for pollinators and biodiversity. Year 2 pupils enjoyed a day at Park Hall Victorian School and Farm last month The pupils dressed in Victorian costume and received a lesson in the Victorian School. Pupils then enjoyed meeting the small animals, grooming a pony, watching and cheering at the pig race, playing in the play barn, feeding the young goats, meeting the shire horses, a tractor ride and trying to find their way in the corn maze. There were some very tired Pandemonium Theatre Company visited school this month to perform 'Tales from Wales'. The children enjoyed the performances and produced some good work following their visit 4 CEFN COMMUNITY COUNCIL NEWS It is with regret we inform residents of the sad passing of Cllr Arthur Williams from Cae Gwilym Lane, he was elected on to Cefn Community Council over eighteen years ago and took his role as councillor with great pride. He will be sadly missed, Cefn Community Council members held a minute’s silence as a mark of respect to Mr Williams at the recent council meeting. Cefn Community Council currently have a Councillor vacancy to be filled by co-option on Plas Madoc Ward. Any interested parties please contact the Clerk for more details on 01978 821298. This year’s REMEMBRANCE SERVICE will be on Sunday 12th November at the Cenotaph, Plas Kynaston Lane. Please note, the service will commence at 10.30am. 8 children from our four Primary Schools will have the honour of reading out the roll call of the fallen listed on our Cenotaph.
