Annual Report 2017 - YEAR IN REVIEW In 2017, Galeria Alexandra’s presented promotional and supporting actions towards art, through both public and private events, as it follows. Given the celebration, in 2018, of Modern State Centenar, our actions from 2017 focused on promoting truthful Romanian values and emphasizing on the continues evolution of Romanian art, in all of its forms, in the last century. Because of that, we created the ROCAT Project (Romanian Century Art Tour by Alexandra’s) which signifies that we belong to the European cultural space. Romanian Century Art ROCAT Tour ROCAT represents a series of promotional events and sellings of many Romanian artists, consecrated or of perspective, renowned or anonymous, but all with a common recognized talent in an artistic field. So far, ROCAT meant bringing painters, graphic artists, sculptors, designers, jewelers, musicians, filmmakers, photographers, glass artists, writers, poets, etc., to the attention of the public. We wanted and continuously working on showing fellow Romanians that they have locals with which they can be proud of, and to the rest of the world that Romania it’s a nation that developed spectacularly, both in a modern and cosmopolitan way, without losing its lode of art and traditional spirituality, for which we were famous in the interwar period, but also without isolating itself. In this given moment, we consider Romanian Art a mature concept, influenced enough by international trends to be European and modern, but anchored enough in the roots of Romanian traditionalism to be considered authentic This are some examples of cultural-artistic events organized according to the obligations Galeria Alexandra’s committed to through the collaboration protocol.
