IFHA provides expertise and support that develops, nurtures, and sustains infrastructure of collaborative healing arts partnerships. 2005–present Founder and Executive Director, Resounding Joy Inc., San Diego, CA The Resounding Joy (RJoy) mission is to promote social, emotional, physical, and spiritual well- being through music. Resounding Joy uses principles and approaches developed from professional music therapy practice to train non-musician volunteers—Joy Givers—to provide supportive music services to Joy Receivers—adults and children with special needs. Since August 2005, Resounding Joy has served 55,000 adults and children with special needs. RJoy outreach is broad in scope, including but not limited to older adult programs, transitional and homelessness-related programs, youth-related programs, and team-building/stress-relief drum circles. RJoy has worked with such organizations as YWCA, the Third Avenue Charitable Organization (TACO) in San Diego, Survivors of Torture International, and San Diego Unifed Schools’ Sound Minds Program. 1997–present Internship Director, Musicworx Inc., San Diego, CA One of the frst private, community-based training programs in the world, established to provide music therapy students from around the world six-month clinical training experiences. By January 2012, MusicWorx will have trained more than 110 interns.
