He launched his first nationwide tour, Shame in 2006 followed a year later by a second national tour, Russell Brand: Only Joking. In 2008, he shot to fame worldwide when he portrayed rocker “Aldous Snow” in Universal’s hit comedy, Forgetting Sarah Marshall and reprised the role two years later in the spin-off, Get Him to the Greek. He was also seen as “Mickey” in Disney’s hit feature film, Bedtime Stories opposite Adam Sandler. Brand has since become an international comedic success. Last year, he starred as “Trinculo” in Julie Taymor’s adaptation of The Tempest. His most recent film was released just last month. Arthur – the remake of the 1981 motion picture – not only featured Brand in the lead role but it also marked his debut as a film producer. Additionally he has done several voice-over roles including “Dr. Nefario” in Despicable Me and “E.B.” in Universal’s live-animated feature, Hop. Currently he is filming the Warner Bros. musical, Rock of Ages alongside Tom Cruise and Alec Baldwin.
