DUN LAOGHAIRE / Dublin • Popular Victorian era seaside resort located just 12 km outside Dublin City Centre. • Unlike the city centre, Dun Laoghaire is a residential area and ideal town to study in – it is close to the city centre but it has a relaxed atmosphere „a small town with Dublin very close by“. • The town also boasts Ireland’s largest, state of the art – and brand new – public library, situated in an adventurous new building with an innovative design. • Aside from the famous historic harbour (200 years old), the town has plenty of other amazing attractions. There’s over 220 shops, restaurants, cafés and pubs. • The County offers an ideal balance between the vibrant capital and the unspoilt countryside. • Areas as Blackrock, Dalkey, Sandyford, Dundrum, Stepaside and Glencullen. • The coastline stretches from Booterstown near the city, through Dún Laoghaire and Dalkey to the magnificent vistas of Killiney Bay. • The area also has a rich cultural heritage: The James Joyce Museum at the Sandycove Martello Tower, setting for the opening chapter of Ulysses, The Dalkey Castle and Heritage Centre, The Maritime Museum in Dún Laoghaire and many archaeological sites spread throughout the County. • The villages and towns offer a wide selection of shops, shopping malls, restaurants and pubs, and evening entertainment with music, theatre and cinemas. .
