And with it comes Nov. 9 7:00 PM LMU @ Long Beach State three games key to the final seedings of the upcoming 2016 GCC Men’s Water Polo Nov. 11 7:00 PM Pepperdine @ UCSB * Championships, which will be held Friday, Nov. 18 - Sunday, Nov. 20. 7:00 PM UC Irvine @ Long Beach State * 7:00 PM San Jose State @ Pacific * With their 13-9 win over Pacific, fourth-ranked UC Santa Barbara wrapped up the No. Nov. 12 7:00 PM Pacific @ UC Davis 1 seed in the GCC Championships. Pacific is locked into the No. 2 seed and San Jose State is in at No. 6. But seed three, four and five will be decided on Friday, Nov. 11 2016 GCC Men’s Championships - Nov. 18-20, 2016 - University of the Pacific with the final three GCC games of the season. Friday, November 18 Top two seeds receive a bye Pepperdine and Long Beach State are currently tied for third at 2-2 each in GCC play Game 1 No. 3 vs. No. 6 San Jose State 6:00 pm while UC Irvine is a game back at 1-3. The Waves travel to UCSB to take on Gauchos Game 2 No. 4 vs. No. 5 7:30 pm while Long Beach State will host UC Irvine. The other conference match-up features San Jose State traveling to Pacific. All three games are at 7 pm. The Tigers will also Saturday, November 19 play at UC Davis on Saturday at 7 pm while the 49ers host LMU on Wednesday night. Game 3 Loser Game 1 vs. Loser Game 2 4:30 pm Game 4 Winner Game 1 vs. Seed No. 2 Pacific 6:00 pm Leading the Gauchos to the No. 1 seed last weekend was senior Reed Cotterill. He Game 5 Winner Game 2 vs. Seed No. 1 UCSB 7:30 pm helped UCSB run their winning streak to six games with a trio of victories last week- end, including the GCC win over Pacific. He earns the GCC Player of the Week honor Sunday, November 20 with eight goals, four of which came in the conference win. Long Beach State will 9 (T) Pepperdine University 9 54 conclude their 2016 regular season with a conference showdown against rival UC Irvine on Friday at 7 p.m. 11 (T) Harvard University 10 (T) 45 The No. 19 Anteaters are 9-12 on the season with a 1-3 record in GCC play. This will be the first matchup 11 (T) Bucknell University 13 45 against UC Irvine this season. 13 Princeton University 10 (T) 43 14 UC San Diego 14 37 PACIFIC Aleksandar Petrovic has led a balanced attack for the Tigers as the rebounded with an impressive 11-10 win 15 (T) California Baptist University 15 (T) 28 over No. 6 Stanford last weekend. Pacific led 10-6 headed into the fourth and held on for the win behind 15 (T) Pomona-Pitzer Colleges 15 (T) 28 two goals each from Aleksandar Petrovci, Engin Ege Colak, Luis Araya, Devon Thumwood and Ikko Saito. 17 Loyola Marymount 17 21 Derek Clappis also scored for the Tigers, while Alen Osmanovic made six saves with two steals. Urban helped the Waves to a 15-7 win over the anteaters, posting two goals and three assists. Urban would also add an assist against California on Sunday. Pepperdine goalie Sept. 7 Ikko Saito Zack Rhodes is currently second in the GCC and ninth in the nation with 176 saves this season. Rhodes Pacific is averaging 8.00 saves per game and has a .562 save percentage. He picked up GCC Player of the Week honors earlier this year after an 18-save performance against Pacific. Sept. 14 Matej Matijevic UC Irvine SAN JOSE STATE Sept. 21 Alen Osmanovic The Spartans take on Golden Coast Conference foe, #4-Pacific, in Stockton, Calif. this Friday, November 11 Pacific in their last regular season match. Sept. 29 Nolan McConnell Long Beach St. UC IRVINE UC Irvine, 9-12 overall and 1-3 in the Golden Coast Conference, ends regular-season play at Long Beach Oct. 5 Zach Rhodes State Friday night at 7:00 in GCC action before competing in the conference tournament at Stockton Nov. Pepperdine 18-20. The Anteaters fell on the road to Pepperdine, 8-7, last Friday and lost to California, 9-6, in UCI’s home finale Saturday. Junior goalie Matej Matijevic had 25 saves in the two games and has 280 on the season. Oct. 12 Reed Cotterill UC Santa Barbara Sophomore Jack Trush leads the Anteaters in scoring with 38 goals followed by junior Ryan Warde with 35. Freshmen Bryant Joudrie and Ian Fleenor have scored 25 goals apiece on the season. Oct. 19 Tim Reeves Pacific UC SANTA BARBARA Currently riding a season-best six-game win streak, No. 4 UCSB (16-6, 4-0) will host No. 9 Pepperdine this Oct. 26 Liam Lenihan UC Santa Barbara Friday night at Campus Pool on Senior Night. After saving some of their best performances for the second half of the season, the Gauchos have already clinched the top seed in the GCC as they head into their Nov. 2 Dylan Becker regular season finale. Since the beginning of its current win streak, UCSB has moved up three spots in the Pacific rankings from No. 7 to No. 4. It is the first time since 1990 that the Gauchos have been ranked in the top four. Through its last ten outings, Santa Barbara has lost just once, to No. 2 USC on the road.
