Availability : Price None suitable Probably low pay and reliability to raise a deposit Price, for example new development Kingfisher Way two bed properties £170,000!!! Cost and availability Price Price/rent Limited work opportunities High prices with low wages for area To expensive New builds too expensive Suitable employment. Housing is always too expensive Lack of finances My income Current housing is enough. Roads cannot cope with more traffic There are no obstacles, every house in occupied Inadequate roads and parking spaces Lack of shops/take aways/pubs Not enough part buy/ part rent housing association properties Lack of schooling and local shops No major obstacles New builds preventing / slowing sales of current property Not appropriate size and cost wise Price no bungalow / 2 bed to downsize to Cost of houses vs local wage rates Right houses not available Cost Property prices are unrealistically high for average consumers. Large houses of 5 bedroom plus aren't a useful requirement. Transport Morda no post office and not enough room in the local school. Transport Cost Lack of choice Very expensive new build housing (eg Montgomery Place) especially for a 3/4 bed house. Cost / availability of affordable homes. Funds Affordability for most families buying 3/4 bed houses. Too built up. Moved here for village life. Infrastructure Over development Being out bid by wealthy incomes who then contribute nothing to community LIFE. Price Price and infrastructure Prices high relative to wages Size of garden in my home Don't know Restricting development within smaller villages. Cost Not affordable if owners work in own or have lower incomes. Question 14 If you any other comments, please make them here: Morda has had too many new housing recently - much of it against the wishes of residents and the parish council. There should be no further development in the village. The green buffer zone between Oswestry town is very important and has been eroded. The …….. in the area is abysmal and must be an absolute priority. Also condition of roads and of lanes; width, no passing places, pot holes etc. There has been a lot of buildings in Morda in the last ten years and now with the development opposite the old ambulance station, Morda is now pretty much swallowed into Oswestry. What a pity. An old village now over-developed and an appendage to Oswestry. Develoeprs need to be required by local authorities to consider the impact on the environment, communities of their work not just profits. People need housing, and there are plenty of brown field sites in Oswestry that could b used if developers were willing to take on a little more more for a little less money/profit. Morda needs starter homes 1-2 bed so youngsters can stay in village. No housing is this area is needed. 750 houses being built in Oswestry town. Small starter homes seem to be occupied by people who do not look after or even tidy their homes / gardens. This needs to be addressed. No builds for rental please. For our Council Rates what do we get? No street lights. No Police presence. Pot holes terrible. Broadband is useless. No buses. Whilst we don't want any new buildings. we guess there should be some so we have our share, as we do need more housing. But this should be 'infill' rather than extending the boundaries of the communities so that communities merge together rather spread outwards (excluding parks, playfields etc) All development to have full consultation with those who may be affected by the development. Morda practically runs into Oswestry now. No more room for houses here. Morda has lost its village identity due to over development. Other areas such as Trefonen should be considered for affordable housing. Please build quickly There is enough building taken place already. For the size of schools etc and shop? Signing on Weston to be changed to 20 down lane. Post box placed by Ashes as people with disabilities need one. Morda is no longer a village. Even less of the small size village with all the houses being build down and around Weston Road. I have lived here for sixty years and I now consider Morda to be part of Oswestry. The school is too small for the children but if more children went there Morda School would not cope and it would loose the community feel. We need a fish and chip shop, post office, lottery facility and more support in the social club. Morda has always been 'clicky’. Outsiders do not feel welcome due to 'same old, same old'. Needles have even been found on the playing field. I am pleased to see the amount of new housing in Morda. Schools ? Doctor Surgeries ? Employment ? Industrial Estate ? Traffic ? Morda has now joined with Oswestry because of more houses being built. It is no longer a village. No more building in Morda, leave us some open green spaces. New school needed, another local shop possibly a take away. A "N'hood D'vt Plan" is reqrd to establish policy location and quality controls on any forced development. No development should be allowed unless a substantial infrastructure investment is made by the builders and create / enhance local facilities. The area is being flooded with new builds yet there are a number of existing properties on the market that are struggling to sell. Building on green field should be discounted. This includes farmland and privately owned fields. Insightly fenced area awaiting development poses danger to children at end of unsurfaced land by The Terraces Morda. The lane is highly dangerous to pedestrians especially after dark. Also causing damage to vehicles. Friends have had to move as far as south Wales to get a 2 bed bungalow. If we can't downsize in our retirement then we can't free up 4 bed family homes. The local infrastructure is schools, hospitals, transport is not adequate to deal with the current level of housing. This needs to be addressed before more houses are built, If you are going to build more homes than better parking will be needed for parents/carers for the local school. It's already a nightmare with them parking in stupid places ie close to junctions/zebra crossing. Also parking by shop on double yellow lines. Knock the pub down and make decent parking. A better play park is needed by the Social Club too. Money needs to be spend on revamping the village. It's tired and dated. Morda is overdeveloped and there shouldn't be any more houses built. Housing and planning are obviously required for a development plan but roads need to be built/widened where possible to cope with the increased traffic flows. Large lorries should be prevented from accessing Weston lane for example, as a short cut. The bends need removing and sleeping policeman or traffic/speed inhibitors in place. The new developments are welcome but common sense requires roads that can cope with increased traffic and assist pedestrians etc. Neighbourhood Plan essential and quickly. This survey asks about needs - the needs should affect policy but rarely do so. Especially if builds of housing for young couples. Bungalows ideal allowing people to down size and stay in their own area. Housing is an issue. However the chapel has gone on the market recently. The church and estate agents have purposely marketed for alternative use which is not ethical or sensible. Behaviour like is not a good reflection on the ward. Morda lacks facilities. The Pub only opens on two evenings. We have no post office. The school has to use portacabins. The planned 600 houses development at Mile End should adequately deal with future requirement. Morda has had huge housing development over the last 10 years, compared to Oswestry. Enough is enough. Morda has incorporated many large building sites - overwhelming. I suggest move building be undertaken in Trefonen! So much housing development in the villages is ruining them. They are losing the uniqueness of village life. Brown sites should also be considered. A doctors surgery and supermarket should be added to the NDP and should also include a dentist (NHS) With 16 estate agents in Oswestry there are many houses of different sizes and prices available in the area. There seems to be no need to build nay more houses Morda should be the Hub because of all development taking place in village Villages should stay as villages.
