UTAH STATE MEN’S BASKETBALL Post-Game Notes vs. Nevada (2/28/21) TEAM NOTES * Utah State improved to 70-22 all-time under third-year head coach Craig Smith, including a 38-4 record at home. USU also improves to 40-13 in Mountain West play under Smith, including a 23-3 home record. * Utah State improved to 39-23 all-time against Nevada, which includes a 23-5 home record. Overall, USU has won each of the last four games in the series. * Utah State has outrebounded every opponent this season and is now 68-15 under Smith, including a 16-7 record this season, when winning the battle of the boards as USU had a 47-24 advantage tonight. USU also had double-digit offensive rebounds (17) for the 19th time this season. USU has now outrebounded its opponent by double-digits 12 times this season. * Nevada had just one offensive rebound in the game, which is the fewest by an Aggie opponent this season. * Utah State had 22 assists on 29 made field goals tonight and it is just the seventh time this year that USU has had 20-plus assists in a game. In fact, those 22 assists are its third-most this year. * Utah State shot a season-high 92.6 percent from the free throw line as it was 25-of-27 from the charity stripe. In fact, those 25 made free throws are its second-most in a game this year. * Utah State had a season-high-tying 11 steals, and it is the just the third time this year that USU has had double-digit steals. * Utah State had just 12 turnovers, which is tied for its fewest in its last 14 games. INDIVIDUAL NOTES * Junior center Neemias Queta posted his 11th double-double this season, including his fourth in as many games, and the 25th of his career with his 26 points and 13 rebounds. Those 25 double-doubles are the 10th most in school history. Overall, it is the 18th time this year and 55th time in his career he has scored in double- figures, and the 13th time this year and 32nd time in his career he has grabbed double-digit rebounds. Overall, Queta is now tied with Bob Lauriski (1971-73) and Wayne Estes (1963-65) for the sixth-most double-digit rebound games in school history. Queta also tied his career-high with six assists. * Junior forward Justin Bean posted his sixth double-double of the season, including his second in as many games, and the 23rd of his career with his 17 points and season-high-tying 13 rebounds. Those 23 double- doubles are the 11th most in school history. Overall, it is the 14th time this year and 39th time in his career he has scored in double-figures, and the eighth time this year and 33rd time in his career he has grabbed double- digit rebounds. Overall, Bean is now tied with Mike Santos (1975-78) for the fourth-most double-digit rebound games in school history. Bean also tied his season-high with three steals. * Junior center Neemias Queta and junior forward Justin Bean both posted double-doubles for the second- straight game. Overall, it is the fourth time this year and fifth time in their career that they have had double- doubles in the same game. * Senior forward Alphonso Anderson scored in double-figures for the sixth time this year and 17th time in his career with his 12 points. He also tied his season-high with two steals. * Redshirt junior guard Marco Anthony scored in double-figures for the 12th time this year and 13th time in his career with his 11 points. He also tied his career-high with two blocks * Freshman guard Max Shulga played a season-high 24 minutes and had season-highs with eight rebounds, four steals and two assists. .
