WALLACE MEMORIAL HIGHWAY"; TO 3 DESIGNATE A SEGMENT OF MISSISSIPPI HIGHWAY 603 LOCATED IN HANCOCK 4 COUNTY, MISSISSIPPI, AS THE "LIEUTENANT DEPUTY MICHAEL ANTHONY 5 BOUTTE, SR., MEMORIAL HIGHWAY"; TO DESIGNATE A SEGMENT OF 6 MISSISSIPPI HIGHWAY 63 LOCATED IN JACKSON COUNTY, MISSISSIPPI, AS 7 THE "DEPUTY U.S. MARSHAL JOSIE LAMAR WELLS MEMORIAL HIGHWAY"; TO 8 AMEND SECTION 65-3-71.320, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, TO REVISE THE 9 NAMING OF A MEMORIAL HIGHWAY SEGMENT OF MISSISSIPPI HIGHWAY 42 IN 10 GREENE COUNTY, MISSISSIPPI, AS THE "DEPUTY U.S. MARSHAL JAKE GREEN 11 AND GREENE COUNTY DEPUTY LAWRENCE DUNNAM MEMORIAL HIGHWAY, EOW 12 APRIL 1, 1921"; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES. 13 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI: 14 SECTION 1. (1) The segment of Mississippi Highway 44 15 located in Marion County, Mississippi, beginning at its 16 intersection with Mississippi Highway 13 and extending westerly to 17 the Pearl River Bridge is designated and shall be known as the 18 "T.L. Wallace Memorial Highway." 19 (2) The Mississippi Department of Transportation shall erect 20 and maintain appropriate signs along and approaching the segment 21 of highway described in subsection (1) of this section. 22 SECTION 2. (1) The segment of Mississippi Highway 603 23 located in Hancock County, Mississippi, beginning at its H. B. No. 424 *HR12/R1046PH* ~ OFFICIAL ~ G1/2 21/HR12/R1046PH PAGE 1 (CAA\AM) 24 intersection with Mississippi Highway 43 and extending northerly 25 to its intersection with Rocky-Hill Dedeaux Road is designated and 26 shall be known as the "Lieutenant Deputy Michael Anthony Boutte, 27 Sr., Memorial Highway." 28 (2) The Mississippi Department of Transportation shall erect 29 and maintain appropriate signs along and approaching the segment 30 of highway described in subsection (1) of this section. 31 SECTION 3. (1) The segment of Mississippi Highway 63 32 located in Jackson County, Mississippi, beginning at a point 33 one-half (1/2) mile south of its intersection with Polktown Road 34 and extending northerly to a point one-half (1/2) mile north of 35 its intersection with Polktown Road is designated and shall be 36 known as the "Deputy U.S. Marshal Josie Lamar Wells Memorial 37 Highway." 38 (2) The Mississippi Department of Transportation shall erect 39 and maintain appropriate signs along and approaching the segment 40 of highway described in subsection (1) of this section. 41 SECTION 4. Section 65-3-71.320, Mississippi Code of 1972, is 42 amended as follows: 43 65-3-71.320. (1) The segment of Mississippi Highway 42 in 44 Greene County, Mississippi, beginning at its southern intersection 45 with Mississippi Highway 63 and extending one (1) mile west, is 46 designated as the " * * * Deputy U.S. Marshal Jake Green and 47 Greene County Deputy Lawrence Dunnam Memorial Highway, EOW April 48 1, 1921." This act shall take effect and be in force from 53 and after July 1, 2021. H. B.
