6 April 2018 14 June 2018 Mandarin Airlines Launches First Narita=Taichung Direct Flight Service - New Link Bridges Central Taiwan and Japan Closer - Mandarin Airlines (IATA code AE) will launch a direct flight service between Narita and Taiwan (initially to operate as a scheduled charter service) from 14 June 2018. This will be a first flight service between Narita and Taichung, located in central Taiwan and rapidly grown to become the Taiwan's second largest city in population after New Taipei City. Taichung, with its rich nature and diverse range of landscape and attractions, continues to fascinate many tourists visiting the central region. Its nostalgic streetscapes echo the bygone years of Japanese colonialism while the urban landscape offers many tourist attractions and photo spots such as Fengjia Night Market, a must-visit if you are in Taiwan; the Taichung Confucius Temple, built to pay homage to Confucius known for his quote on education and learning; and the Rainbow Military Housing Village, highly recommended by local people who knows the area well. As a tourism hub it also offers convenient access to rich natural environments such as the picturesque Sun Moon Lake, Alishan and Gaomei wetlands, all famous locations in Taiwan. Narita Airport is excited that this new destination will enable it to offer one more travel option and a higher level of user convenience.
