He studied in Basel with Elisabeth Weingartner (Voice) and Rainer Altorfer (role coaching), and recently in Milan with Bonaldo Giaiotti. He won the Competition Kammeroper Schloss Rheinsberg in 2006 in Berlin and was sponsored by Ernst- Göhner-Foundation Zürich. He sang at Deutsche Oper am Rhein Düsseldorf, Baden-Baden Festival (with Sir Simon Rattle and the Berlin Philharmonic), Alte Oper Frankfurt, Staatstheater Hannover, Theater Basel, Strassbourg, Teatro Caboto Milano and currently at the Nationaltheater Mannheim. He worked with the following conductors: Sir Simon Rattle (with the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra), Alexander Soddy, Dan Ettinger, Hans Wallat, Gerd Albrecht, Maurizio Barbacini, Armin Jordan, Constantin Trinks, John Fiore und Ira Levin and sang in productions by Peter Konwitschny, Christoph Loy, Guy Joosten, Christoph Nel, Calixto Bieito, Achim Freyer, Brigitte Fassbaender and Dietrich Hilstorf. Among his repertoire: Gurnemanz in Parsifal, Baron Ochs in Rosenkavalier, Fasolt and Hunding in Wagner's Ring, König Heinrich (Lohengrin), Zaccaria (Nabucco), Sarastro (The magic flute), Rocco (Fidelio), the bass-part in Verdi-Requiem and Beethoven 9th Symphony, Il Grand Inquisitor in Don Carlos, Ramfis and King (Aida), Banco (Macbeth), Raimondo in "Lucia di Lammermoor", Figaro (Le nozze di Figaro), Titurel (Parsifal), Gremin in Eugen Onegin, Brogni (La Juive) and the title-role in Massenet’s Don Quichotte. Since 2013 he has been a member of the National Theatre Mannheim, with roles as Gurnemanz in Parsifal, Baron Ochs in Rosenkavalier, Hunding in Walküre. He has worked with Sir Simon Rattle and recently gave his debut as Brogni in "La Juive" in a new production staged by Peter Konwitschny (co-produced with Vlaamse Opera Antwerpen). .
