While three points against Bordeaux are essential, to go through they must also hope that Slavia Praha lose at home to group winners Zenit. • Bordeaux, who have four points to København's five having finally ended a long winless run in the UEFA Europa League proper with a 2-0 home win over Slavia on matchday five, are in a similar predicament to their hosts, needing the combination of two away wins on matchday six to seal their passage to the knockout phase in second place behind Zenit. Previous meetings • FCK's only Group C win so far came in Bordeaux on matchday two when an added-time winner from Robert Skov brought a 2-1 success. • Bordeaux's sole previous fixture against Danish opposition had come in the 1995 UEFA Intertoto Cup, a 4-0 home win against Odense helping them on the road to a memorable European campaign that ended in the UEFA Cup final. • FCK have entertained French clubs on five previous occasions, winning two of those matches and losing three. Their only previous UEFA Europa League fixture at home to Ligue 1 opposition brought a 1-3 defeat to Marseille – a result that was repeated in the second leg as the Danish club exited the inaugural 2009/10 competition in the round of 32. Form guide København • FCK were dethroned as Danish champions last season, missing out on a third successive title and ensuring an 18th successive European campaign only after a post-season play-off win. They are one of only four clubs to have reached this season's UEFA Europa League group stage after beginning their campaign in the first qualifying round, along with Apollon Limassol, Rangers and Sarpsborg. A penalty shoot-out win took København past Atalanta after two goalless draws in the play-offs. • The Danish club are taking part in a sixth UEFA Europa League group stage and have progressed twice before, most recently last season when they lost in the round of 32 to eventual winners Atlético Madrid (1-4 home, 0-1 away). They had gone a round further in 2016/17 after crossing over from the UEFA Champions League group stage. • That home defeat by Atlético is one of only two losses in their last 12 European fixtures at Parken (W6 D4), the other having come on matchday three this season against Slavia (0-1). FCK had not conceded in six successive home group stage encounters until the 1-1 draw with Zenit on matchday one. Bordeaux • Sixth in Ligue 1 last season, Bordeaux negotiated three qualifying ties in order to reach the UEFA Europa League proper. They did so undefeated, winning home and away against Ventspils and Mariupol before seeing off Gent 2-0 on aggregate (0-0 away, 2-0 home) in the play-offs. • The 1996 UEFA Cup runners-up have participated in three previous UEFA Europa League group stage campaigns, reaching the round of 16 in 2012/13 but finishing bottom of their section in both 2013/14 and 2015/16. Last season they were eliminated in the third qualifying round on away goals by Hungary's Videoton. • Bordeaux's 2-0 win at home to Slavia last time out ended a winless run in the UEFA Europa League proper lasting 13 matches (D5 L8). Outside of the qualifying phase Les Girondins have won only once away from home in the competition (D4 L8), 2-1 at Club Brugge on matchday five in 2012/13. That is the only such fixture in which they have scored more than one goal, managing just six in total across the other 12 games. Links and trivia • Bordeaux's on-loan Copenhagen-born striker Andreas Cornelius has spent the bulk of his career with FCK, scoring 62 goals in 176 appearances for the club. • This is Ståle Solbakken's 32nd match as FCK coach in the UEFA Europa League, group stage to final. Only two other coaches have taken charge of more games in the competition with one club – Unai Emery (Sevilla, 39) and Jorge Jesus (Benfica, 38). • Bordeaux are one of ten clubs in the 2018/19 group stage who have lost UEFA Cup or UEFA Europa League finals, the others being Anderlecht, Lazio, Vidi, Salzburg, Arsenal, Celtic, Sporting CP, Rangers and, on three occasions, Marseille. Of that group only Anderlecht have lifted the trophy. The coaches 4 FC København - FC Girondins de Bordeaux Thursday 13 December 2018 - 21.00CET (21.00 local time) Match press kit FC København Stadium, Copenhagen • Solbakken's second coaching tenure at København began in 2013. He has won seven Danish titles in charge of FCK, five of those in his first spell from 2006 to 2011. The former Norway midfielder won 58 caps and scored nine goals for his country, appearing at both the 1998 FIFA World Cup and UEFA EURO 2000, and had short spells coaching in Germany (with Köln) and England (with Wolves) in between his two lengthy stints in the Danish capital. • Éric Bedouet has a lengthy association with the Girondins, having first served on the club's coaching staff in the title- winning 1998/99 campaign. Widely recognised as one of the most accomplished fitness trainers in France, he also served the national team at UEFA EURO 2016. After standing in as Bordeaux's interim coach twice in 2018, following the departures of Jocelyn Gourvennec and Gus Poyet, he was confirmed as head coach on 5 September – the same day Ricardo Gomes was named as the club's new general manager. 5 FC København - FC Girondins de Bordeaux Thursday 13 December 2018 - 21.00CET (21.00 local time) Match press kit FC København Stadium, Copenhagen Team facts FC København Formed: 1992 Nickname: Løverne (The Lions) UEFA club competition honours (runners-up in brackets) • None Domestic honours (most recent triumph in brackets) League title: 12 (2017) Danish Cup: 8 (2017) Ten-year European record (UEFA Europa League/UEFA Cup unless indicated otherwise) 2017/18: round of 32 (having transferred from UEFA Champions League play-offs) 2016/17: round of 16 (having transferred from UEFA Champions League group stage) 2015/16: third qualifying round 2014/15: group stage (having transferred from UEFA Champions League play-offs) 2013/14: UEFA Champions League group stage 2012/13: group stage (having transferred from UEFA Champions League play-offs) 2011/12: group stage (having transferred from UEFA Champions League play-offs) 2010/11: UEFA Champions League round of 16 2009/10: round of 32 (having transferred from UEFA Champions League play-offs) 2008/09: round of 32 Records UEFA club competition • Biggest home win 7-0: København v Cliftonville 31/07/08, UEFA Cup first qualifying round second leg • Biggest away win 0-6 twice, most recently v Mogren 22/07/09,
