The adoption event will take place on Saturday, August 18. “We are excited to participate in Clear the Shelters again,” said PHS/SPCA’s Communications Manager Buffy Martin Tarbox. “We are offering ‘name your own adoption fee’ for any of the animals at our shelter available for adoption. Despite the reduced fee, we will still be following our strict adoption procedures which are designed to make sure the match is good for both the humans and the animal.” Clear the Shelters is a nationwide event encouraging people to adopt from local shelters. “Last year we broke a record and found new, loving homes for eighty-two animals. This year, we will have more than one hundred animals available for adoption including cats, dogs, kittens, puppies, bunnies, small animals, birds and reptiles,” according to Tarbox. WHAT: PHS/SPCA’s Clear the Shelters “Name your own fee” adoptions WHEN: Saturday, August 18 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. WHERE: PHS/SCPA’s Lantos Center for Compassion, 1450 Rollins Road, Burlingame, CA To learn more about PHS/SPCA’s adoption process and to see available animals, please visit www.PHS-SPCA.org About The Peninsula Humane Society & SPCA. The Peninsula Humane Society & SPCA (PHS/SPCA) is a local, private, non-profit charitable organization dedicated to animal welfare. Among our major programs, PHS/SPCA adopts fully 100% of the healthy dogs and cats in our care and also, through our charitably funded Hope Program, makes well and finds homes for thousands of animals who come to us sick, injured, or too young to survive without supportive care. PHS/SPCA is truly an open admission shelter, not only accepting many pet animals who might be refused at other shelters, but also taking care of injured and orphaned native wildlife from San Francisco through San Mateo and the northern half of Santa Clara County. Our work means 6,300 lives saved each year. Please visit www.phs-spca.org to learn about all our programs and services, ways to help our animals and special events. -30- Tom and Annette Lantos Center for Compassion Coyote Point Shelter ADOPTIONS | EDUCATION | WILDLIFE | ADMINISTRATION LOST/FOUND | ANIMAL INTAKE | SPAY/NEUTER CLINIC | ANIMAL CONTROL .
