6th Year May 2,1977 Number 18 Vashek Thrills R.I. Providence, R. I., April 16th — At high noon, in this city, the Great Vashek and Cathy duplicated their sensational motorcycle "Sky Ride", which was first performed on March 3rd in San Juan, Puerto Rico. A week's preparations had been instituted by Circus Odyssey owner-pro- ducer Ed Migley and the aerialists drove up from Florida ten days in advance of the promotional stunt and their opening with Circus Odyssey on April 18th, at the University of Rhode Island at Kingston. The "flight path" originated at the 120 ft. high Howard Building, over downtown Provi- dence to the 200 ft. high Biltmore Hotel. A wind gusting to 23 miles per hour did not deter their mid-day performance. The Dynamic Duo were chauffered to the site in a Cadillac limousine, es- corted by police with sirens wailing.
