The 2018 season marks Lopez’s 11th year as a manager in the Mets minor league system and his 17th overall. Lopez has managed every full-season level of the Mets system after piloting the triple-A Las Vegas 51s in 2017. The 2013 Eastern League Manager of the Year has accumulated 865 wins over 16 years as a manager and has guided dozens of future big leaguers including Noah Syndergaard, Matt Harvey, Jacob deGrom and Edinson Volquez.
