LOCATION Souerce: Google 2013 Souerce: SIGAC The Eden mine is geologically located inside the The Edén Mine mining emerald district of GACHALA-CHIVOR; in the eastern chain of the Andean mountains of Colombia, into the eastern side of the so called Colombian’s Emeralds Belts,. 6 LOCATION The Property The property area is 106, 9706 hectares. It is shown in official maps from the Instituto Geográfico Agustín Codazzi (Topographic Geographic Institute) under plates 229 I C 2 and 229 I D 1 Scale 1: 10,000. The Edén Mine Coordinates. 7 7 GEOLOGY Regional Geology The area’s structural control is NE-SW oriented and is part of the Quetame Massif; a set of Paleozoic basement rocks of the Farallones Group, on which rocks were later deposited from the Bata, Santa Rosa and Ubala formations, from the Lower Cretaceous and Berrasian, then the Chivor, Lutitas de Macanal and Las Juntas formations, and finally the rocks of the Aptian, Une and Fomeque formations in the Albian. INGEOMINAS (Colombian Institute of Mining and Geology) 2008. 8 8 GEOLOGY Local Geology The area’s NE-SW oriented structural control is accompanied by a low-grade hydrothermal alteration in the Lutitas de Macanal and Chivor formations . The main structural features present in the area are: San Isidro - Quebrada Negra , La Colonia and Mundo Nuevo Chiquito faults, associated with minor faults and folds. The main folds are the Miralindo and Manizales alticlines, heading N 35- 50 E, associated with minor folds . ( Ingeominas 2008).
