Tudor London Example itinerary Day 1 Transfer from school to London. Visit en-route: the Field of the Battle of Bosworth. Guided tour. If this is inconvenient due to the location of the school we will prepare an alternative visit, to Fotheringay, or Kentwell Hall, for example. On arrival in London: The Tower of London. Fully guided visit of The Tower of London, including The Bloody Tower, The Beauchamp Tower (where prisoners etched messages on the walls) and the Jewel House. Pupils will view England’s Crown Jewels and see the Beefeaters and the Ravens of the Tower. We will then walk the short distance along the Thames to Tower Bridge. Our groups ascend the North Tower to admire the view over the Tower of London, St. Paul’s and the Houses of Parliament. We descend the South Tower and meet our coach. Supper in London. Evening coach tour of London’s most famous landmarks. London Day 2 Tudor The Museum of London. This museum has excellent exhibits and displays illustrating life in Tudor England. The Globe Theatre. The Director of Studies will conduct a guided tour of this historic theatre which lies close to the south bank of the Thames. Transfer to Hampton Court Palace. Located 13 miles outside central London, Hampton Court Palace is the grandest of all the great palaces built during the Tudor period and was once home to King Henry VIII. Pupils will see the astronomical clock of 1540, the royal kitchens where oxen could be roasted whole and the splendid gardens where King Henry led his court in merriment. Return to school. Supper en-route.
