This convention is held for a week and every day renowned pundits and acharyas give enriching discourses. The convention is one of the biggest spiritual gathering of its kind in Kerala. It is organised every year by the Hindu Matha Mahamandalam. The Hindu Matha Mahamandalam is a body that takes into its fold all sects and denominations of the Hindu Society. This organisation was first started as a reformist organisation which crusaded against social evils such as untouchability and other forms of discrimination. It started a religious renaissance in Kerala and did a pioneering job in eradicating many superstitions, superfluous rituals and out-moded festivities. The place where the convention is held is known as Vidyadhiraja Nagar after the great Guruji Shri Vidyadhiraja Chattampi Swamikal, a great social reformer of Kerala during the 20th Century.
