(The circular route of Nutbourne O Arms PH W Lane, Gay Street Lane and Gay Street is probably the most undulating part). However, E R it is an extremely pleasant country ride with some lovely views and the opportunity to S T visit Nutbourne Vineyard. R E Billingshurst E T Storrington 1. Park in the public car park, next to the library, in Pulborough High Street. Follow road east S The White Horse PH Horse TA towards West Chiltington. There are three pubs within a few hundred yards of each other at B R O N O M L E L I E S H R S T the start of the route - The Oddfellows Arms, The Red Lion and The White Horse. L R A E N E E T 2 2. Turn left just past The White Horse pub and take the West Chiltington Road. Then a left turn towards Nutbourne. There is a fairly long incline followed by a Marehill decline into the village of Nutbourne, passing The Rising The Rising 6 Sun PH Sun pub on the left. After this there is a very long narrow North Heath 3 challenging incline for which your efforts are rewarded N West Chiltington West U T B O E U N A L R E N G by a lovely long decline the other side. This brings you to A Common Y Nutbourne Vineyard a sharp right turn just before the village of North Heath. S T Nutbourne R S E T E R T 3. Turn right in the direction of Gay Street (Gay Street Lane). Theroute again becomes a E A L M fairly long incline followed by a long decline to reach a T-junction where you take a right turn A Nutbourne N L Vineyard E A down Gay Street towards West Chiltington. As you come down the hill towards a T-junction, N E Nutbourne Vineyard is situated on your right. 4 G Y A S T R E E T 4. Turn left at T-junction and in a short time left into Mill Lane. Followroad up a long fairly steep incline towards West Chiltington. Carry on past The Queen’s Head up East Street and The Queens T Head PH H Chiltington then take a right turn into Sinnocks. Soon after, turn right into Juggs Lane and then follow the E West road round to the right, past The Elephant & Castle on your left and into Church Street. HOL L Church O W 5. This brings you back to The Queen’s Head junction, where you take a left and retrace your tracks down through ‘The Hollow’. At the bottom, take a right turn into Stream Lane and follow 5 JUGGS LANE along until the end. Take a left turn at the T-junction into Nutbourne Road. There is a slight incline and then a slight decline to bring you back to the junction with West Chiltington Road. S INN OC KS 6. Turn right and follow road until the end where you will take a right turn onto the main Storrington to Pulborough road. You now follow the road straight back to the car park.
