These friendly greetings are heard all summer long, during Lighthouse hours, inviting tourists and return visitors alike to enjoy and learn about Islesboro’s most iconic symbol, the Grindle Point Lighthouse, and its Sailor’s Museum. Who better to host this historic island “first stop” than Charlotte and Jim Mitchell! Charlotte, as Lighthouse Keeper, and Jim, as Chair of the Lighthouse and Museum Committee, regale visitors with enticing tales of island history, artifacts and ghosts. “Here is the musket from the Revolutionary War,” “There is the Charles Dana Gibson portrait of Captain Rolerson” and “Be careful when you go up the stairs to the tower…we have a ghost!” Who better to be the greeters of the island than this
