2016 SCHOOL GUIDE SPECIAL SECTION October 2016 Compiled by Rita Mauceri, Ledger Contributing Writer Welcome to the 2016 Los Feliz Ledger School Guide. This an- nual primer for neighborhood parents is compiled using infor- mation from schools, their websites and LAUSD.net. The list is comprised of elementary and secondary schools in Los Feliz, Sil- ver Lake and surrounding neighborhoods, and includes a diverse range of public, charter, magnet, private, and parochial schools within the K-12 spectrum. Parents interested in Magnet Schools, Public School Choice and other Los Angeles Unified School District program options should visit echoices.lausd.net for more information about these schools and their application processes. All API (Academic Performance Index) scores listed are from 2013. The API previously served as a measure of academic per- formance year to year but is no longer used by California public schools. Historically, the state’s goal for schools was 800 or above. Tuitions listed for private schools are for the current (2016- 17) academic year.
