GUIDANCE Guidance on use of the award calculator This is a basic award calculator which provides an indicator only. Appeals or complaints cannot be based on the result achieved. The guidance below applies to students who started on programmes in or after academic year 2013/14. Students who started before 2013/14 may have additional requirements for classifications which are detailed in the regulations. Archived regulations can be found here. For all programmes: In order to be awarded you must have passed the minimum number of credits required for your programme and comply with the terms of your programme specification. Note that all final module marks will be used in your official degree calculation. In order for the award calculator to be most effective: Minimum credits – the number of credits you enter must total at least the minimum overall number required for your award (see T4 table) Maximum credits - do not exceed the maximum overall number allowed for your award (see T4 table and programme specification) Credit levels - enter the appropriate number of credits for each level of study as detailed on your programme specification Condoned fails - do not exceed the number permitted (see T4 table and programme specification) Credit only - do not include any modules that are for credit only (eg year abroad credit) In addition, for BA, BEng, BMus, BSc and LLB: Insert the best 90 credits at level 6 with a weighting of 5 Insert the remaining level 6 credits and all level 5 credits with a weighting of 3 Insert all level 4 credits with a weighting of 1 Note that a c-score, in the pass range, within 2% of a higher classification is automatically upgraded to the higher classification where at least 60 credits at level 6 or above are in a higher classification range (see regulation T32) For your classification, refer to T31 In addition, for Integrated Masters (MEng, MPharm and MSci): Insert the best 120 credits at level 7 with a weighting of 7 Insert the remaining level 7 credits and all level 6 credits with a weighting of 5 Insert all level 5 credits with a weighting of 3 Insert all level 4 credits with a weighting of 1 Note that a c-score, in the pass range, within 2% of a higher classification is automatically upgraded to the higher classification where at least 60 credits at level 7 are in a higher classification range (see regulation T32) For your classification, refer to T31 GUIDANCE Guidance on use of the award calculator In addition, for one year intercalated degrees: Insert the best 90 credits at level 6 with a weighting of 5 Insert the remaining level 6 with a weighting of 3 Note that a c-score, in the pass range, within 2% of a higher classification is automatically upgraded to the higher classification where at least 60 credits at level 6 or above are in a higher classification range (see regulation T32). For your classification, refer to T31 In addition, for Undergraduate Certificates, Undergraduate Diplomas, Graduate Certificates, Graduate Diplomas and Foundation degrees: Insert all modules with a weighting of 1 For your classification, refer to T34 In addition, for Masters degrees (excluding Integrated Masters): Insert all modules with a weighting of 1 You must not enter more than 30 credits at level 6 You must enter a minimum of 150 credits at level 7 (to include the dissertation) You must not enter more than 30 credits at level 7 with a condoned fail mark OR no more than 15 credits at level 6 and 15 credits at level 7 with a condoned fail mark For your classification, refer to T37 In addition, for Postgraduate Certificates and Postgraduate Diplomas: Insert all modules with a weighting of 1 For your classification, refer to T40 Award calculator Useful links Programme Specifications T4 T31 T34, T37 & T40 see Academic Regulations .
