Dear SBI F F Family, We’ve grown quite a lot in this past year – literally! And it’s all because of your love and support. As we head into our 35th anniversary, we’re grateful and feeling bullish about what’s ahead. Board of Directors As you know education is at the heart of our mission, and thus Lynda Weinman this year we opened The Barbakow Family Center for Film Studies, President in downtown Santa Barbara, which will host our year-round Jeffrey Barbakow educational programs and forever impact our community. The Chairman doors are open and we have already begun hosting events and creative programs. We’ve always felt the possibilities are endless – Linda Armstrong now it’s a reality! Vice President Treasurer SBIFF Riviera Theatre cemented its reputation as the independently Mimi deGruy run non-profit art-house this City always deserved. Besides Vice President Education showcasing the most important films of the year including “Roma” and “RBG”, the Riviera hosted and partnered with local Susan Eng-Denbaars organizations for the 1st Annual Call To Action Film Festival. Vice President Secretary Lastly, 275 filmmakers were in attendance at the 34th edition of Tammy Hughes SBIFF this past February. All 5 Oscar nominated directors attended Vice President Nominations & Governance (including Alfonso Cuarón and Spike Lee), but most importantly and dearest to our hearts, 4000 students attended Mike’s Field Trip to William Rosen the Movies and 30 Students from across the country attended the Vice President Audit festival — flown and hosted by us — free of charge.
