Project Leader of the 9-year (Feb. 1989 to Jan 1998) German- funded (GTZ) technical cooperation entitled “Philippine- German Coconut Tissue Culture Project”. The Project leader of a 3-year European Union-funded project entitled “Coconut: Development of Methods for the Clonal Propagation of Elite, Diseases-resistant Palms by Somatic Embryogenesis”. This project was collaboration among 5 countries (Philippines, Mexico, Germany, France and England). Makapuno Comprehensive Technology Development and Commercialization Program of which she was the Program Leader. The Project Leader of a 3-year (April 15, 1999 to March 2002) DOST-PCARRD funded project under the Crops Biotechnology Program, entitled “Coconut Tissue Culture: Optimization pf protocols towards increased production of clones”. Coconut embryo culture research to develop effective technology for the production of coconut seedlings from the high value soft endosperm coconut variety “Lono.” One of the project leaders of an IPGRI-COGENT funded program entitled “Sustainable use of coconut genetic resources to enhance incomes and nutrition of coconut smallholders in the Asia Pacific Region”. After retirement in Feb. 2008, she was the President and CEO of PhilHybrid Corporation, a private corporation involved in the production of embryo cultured Makapuno seedlings based at UPLB, College, Laguna until April 2015. Also a Consultant of Dept. of Science and Technology Region 4 and Department of Agriculture in the Philippines. Now on a “on call basis.” Developmental Projects Project leader of 2 projects in Tiaong, Quezon and Lipa undertaken or led in coconut City, Batangas (both are Department of Agriculture sector in own country/others Research Stations) in the Philippines mainly to mass produce the dwarf Makapuno type developed at the Leyte State University. These projects are funded by the P1M research grant she got when she was awarded as the DA National Gawad Saka Outstanding Agricultural Scientist in 2007 by President Macapagal-Arroyo. She earlier established demo farms of this Makapuno types in three site. Papers presented : International: International Rillo, E. P. 2004.
