Council receives a large number of requests for road repairs and works throughout the year. Unsealed roads can be dusty when dry, or prone to flood damage after rain. During summer, particularly at this time of the year when harvest has commenced, there is an increase in heavy vehicles on the roads making dust nuisance more prevalent. Thunderstorms and heavy rains can result in unsealed roads becoming slippery and boggy. Drivers are reminded to exercise their judgement and drive to the conditions, unsealed road surfaces can be unpredictable. Recent rains will extend the Councils grader maintenance program. Council seeks ratepayers cooperation as works crews grade and maintain our road network. Council is responsible for 2000kms of unsealed roads and maintaining them requires extensive programming.
