Oktober 2017 Lufthansa Aviation Training (LAT) and TUIfly have agreed to continue their 18-year-long partnership until 2020 at least. Therefore, TUIfly will continue to train its pilots on the 737 NG simulator at LAT in Berlin. Each year, pilots of the holiday carrier spend 4,000 hours in the LAT flight simu- lators. The training puts special emphasis on simulating exceptional aircraft sce- narios and also allows the pilots to complete the so-called “type-rating” to obtain the valid type-rating certification for B737 aircraft after having become familiar with that aircraft type.
