It’s his most ER in a start since 6/6/13 with Double-A Mississippi at Chattanooga (loss, 4.1 IP, 9 H, 6 ER). Saves: Juan Jaime (13) Constanza, the Catalyst: OF Jose Constanza went 1-for-5 with a run scored yesterday, giving him hits in 10 of his last 12 games…that span includes a seven- game hitting streak from 6/20 to 6/27 (.379, 11-for-29, 4 R, 5 RBI, 2 SB). He’s batting .275 (28-for-102, 2B, 10 R, 7 RBI, 6 SB) in 26 games in June. Constanza (.272, 5 2B, 2 3B, 37 R, 20 RBI) currently ranks among IL leaders in lowest TPA per strikeout ratio (3rd, 10.18) and stolen bases (4th, 17-for-22, 77.3%). The fourth-year G-Brave (2011-current) leads the Gwinnett franchise in games played (320), at-bats (1,268), hits (374), triples (13), runs (177) and steals (75). Carpenter on Rehab: Atlanta Braves’ RHP David Carpenter began his rehab assignment with the G-Braves on Saturday night vs. Charlotte, making the first start of his professional career in his 342nd appearance. He worked 1.0 scoreless IP (0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 1 SO, 22 pitches, 16 strikes) and exited with a 4-0 lead. Carpenter, 4-1 with a 4.23 ERA (13 ER in 27.2 IP) and two saves in 34 games with Atlanta, has been on the 15-day disabled list since 6/17 with a strained right biceps. He is 1-2 with a 3.31 ERA (6 ER in 16.1 IP) in seven career outings (1 start) with Gwinnett…Carpenter opened the 2013 season with the G-Braves (1-2, 3.52).
