RULES 1.1 The regatta is subject to the rules as defined in the RACING RULES OF SAILING 2017 - 2020 Including Appendix P 1.2 in case of conflict between languages, the English text will take precedence. 2 ADVERTISING 2.1. The World Sailing Advertising Code regulation 20 will apply. 2.2. The Organisation Authority (OA) may require participants to display event advertising as prescribed in the Sailing Instructions. Any such advertising will be provided by the OA and shall be displayed as described in the Sailing Instructions. 3. ELIGIBILITY and ENTRY 3.1. The regatta is open to all boats of the following classes: Optimist A B C Laser 4.7 Radial Standard Splash Green Red Blue Europe Ok Cadet RsFeva Rs500 Yngling Soling Nacra15 Hobie Dragoon Hansa Sailability 3.2. Other by World Sailing officially recognized classes may enter on request and after written approval of the race committee. 3.3 Eligible boats may enter at the official ZR website; 4.4. The official payment date counts as the registration date. 3.5. The following restrictions apply: If there are less than 8 entries in a class by 19 June, the OA reserves the right to cancel the regatta for that class. In that case, the enrollments will be informed / canceled by e-mail no later than Tuesday 3 July, with registration fee being refunded. DD/MK/ST !2 / 7! 8218 Zeeland Regatta NoR 2018 3.6 Registration is open from 18th of March 2018 online at : www.ZeelandRegatta.EU 4. REGISTRATION FEES 4.1 The required registration fees are as follows EARLY BIRD before LATE ENTRY On site at RO 5/6/18 6/6/18 till 6/7/18 Single handed € 60 € 75 LATE ENTRY+" 50 Double handed € 80 € 110 LATE ENTRY+" 50 Triple handed € 100 € 145 LATE ENTRY+" 50 4.2 The entree fee includes: • use of marina facilities; • for keel and sport-boats the launching in and out the water; • Friday clinics, Saturday crew-dinner and all the social festivities. 5. RACE PROGRAM and SCHEDULE 5.1 Each participant must register once at the Regatta Office Friday 6 July 5.00 pm 9.30 pm Saturday 7 July 7.30 am 8.30 am 5.2 Dates and number of races: Saturday 7 July the aim is to sail a minimum of 3 races per class Sunday 8 July the aim is to sail a minimum of 3 races per class 5.3 The call of the warning signal for the first race of the first class to start: Saturday 7 July 10.00 am Sunday 8 July 9.30 am Sunday 8 July No more starts of a new serie after 3.00 am 5.4 Prize giving and ‘CU soon’ drink, Sunday asap after the last race. 6 MEASUREMENT Each boat shall produce a valid measurement certificate. 7.SAILING INSTRUCTIONS DD/MK/ST !3 / 7! 8218 Zeeland Regatta NoR 2018 7.1. The SailingInstructions and the competition schedule will be available no later than 5.00 pm on Thursday 5 July 2018 and will be published on the ZR website. 7.2 Participants are urged to read the documents in advance and not to print them. Zeeland Regatta thinks green, please do so with us and leave the docs on the screen. The documents will not be distributed separately during the regatta. 8 LOCATION Main event site Oostwatering Marina, Polredijk 13, 4351 RT Veere, The Netherlands The race area’s The race area’s are in short sailing distance from the marina Regatta O$ce Brasserie OOSTDOK Polredijk 19, Veere Zeeland Regatta HQ Balkengat 35, 4431HH, Middelburg, The Netherlands 9 COURSES The courses to be sailed will be described in the Sailing Instructions. 10. PENALTY SYSTEM 10.1. Appendix P, Immediate Penalties for breaking rule 42, as amended by Class Rules will apply. 10.2. Decisions of the international jury will be final as provided in rule 70.5 11. SCORING 11.1. The low-point scoring system appendix A of the RRS will apply to all races. 11.2. Further details for fleet racing and/or qualifiing and final series will be defined in Sailing Instructions. 12. TEAM LEADERS/COACHES 12.1. A Coach briefing will be held prior to the races on Saturday and Sunday 8.00 hrs. at the Regatta Office. 12.2Team leaders/coach and/or representatives shall register at the ZR Regatta Office before the start of the first race and give the sail numbers of all boats they are supporting. 12.3. All coach boats shall fly a white flag with black number. These flags will be available at the ZR Regatta Office. A deposit of EUR 20 is requested and will be refunded if the flag is returned to the ZR Regatta Office within 2 hours after the finish of the last boat of the last race on Sunday if not, the refund expires. 12.4. These flags must be shown on a stick (minimum 1,5m high). The penalty for DD/MK/ST !4 / 7! 8218 Zeeland Regatta NoR 2018 failing to comply with this requirement may be the disqualification of all boats associated with the infringing support personnel. 13. BERTHING AND PARKING Boats, trailers and cars will be kept in assigned places on site Oostwatering Marina. Instructions concerning this from the ZR organization must be followed at all time. 14. RESTRICTIONS ON TAKING A BOAT OUT OF THE WATER Keel boats may not be hauled out of the water during the competition series except with and subject to the conditions of the prior written consent of the race committee. 15. RADIO COMMUNICATION While racing, a boat may neither transmit radio signals nor receive radio messages that are not available to all boats, except in emergencies. This restriction also applies to mobile phones. 16. PRIZES 16.1 Prizes are available for all classes: Boats Number of prizes 8-10 2 10-15 3 15+ 4 16.2 In addition to the normal prices, prizes will be given randomly. 17. RESULTS The results will be available asap after a race on the website and Result App of ZR. 18. SUPPORT BOATS Support boats (Sb) are required to register online before 25 June 2018 All support boats must carry a Sb flag to be collected before launching at the Regatta Office at a 15 € deposit which is refundable when handing in after the last race at the Regatta Office on Sunday. Launching of Sb is only allowed on the slipway beneath the Regatta Office Oostdok and is included in the Sb registration fee ; Mooring is free in the Rib Area when registered and visibly flying the Sb flag; Sb’s can be asked to assist with towing participating boats to the Race Area and back to the port. The maximum speed on the Veerse Meer is 20 km / h. DD/MK/ST !5 / 7! 8218 Zeeland Regatta NoR 2018 19. EVENT TRAFIC Local traffic flows for cars with boats and trailers are indicated at the location. General guidelines will be announced on the website. 20. SOCIAL EVENTS 20.1 Sailing-, Zeeland - and Dutch Wavemaker clinics will be held on Friday 6 July; 20.2 On Saturday evening, 7 July a crew dinner will be offered to all participants. 20.3 Coaches, parents and other supporters can purchase additional dinner tickets online until June 25; Breakfast and lunch tickets will also be available online. 20.3 More about the social events will follow on the website asap 21. ACCOMMODATION 21.1 Zeeland Regatta considers the social cohesion and contacts between the participants, coaches , parents, supporters and organization of great importance. In order to achieve this, Zeeland Regatta is committed to provide the possibility of a sleeping place for all attendees on site at Oostwatering Marina. 21.2 Camping and berths at Oostwatering Marina can be reserved online at the ZR website; 21.2 For accommodation elsewhere: http://www.vvvzeeland.nl/accommodaties ; 21.3 In Zeeland it is forbidden to camp on public roads or parking facilities. 22. DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY 22.1. Competitors participate in the regatta entirely at their own risk. See rule 4, Decision to Race. 22.2 The organizing authority does not accept any liability for material damage or personal injury or death sustained in conjunction with or prior to, during, or after the Regatta. 22.3 A competitor must be in good health and capable of sailing in all conditions. 22.4 After a rescue, there will be no refund for damage caused by the rescue team. 23. INSURANCE Each participating boat must be insured for third-party liability with a minimum amount of € 1,500,000 per incident or equivalent. It is the exclusive responsibility of each participant to have such insurance and to be able to present written proof of this at any time during the event. A valid third-party liability insurance must exist for each participating boat and may be checked at registration. 24. NAME IMAGE AND PORTRAIT LAW By participating in this event, participants automatically grant the OA and the DD/MK/ST !6 / 7! 8218 Zeeland Regatta NoR 2018 sponsors the right to make, use and use without compensation, perpetual and at their discretion, any photographic, audio and video recording and other reproductions of them which are made on the water or at the event location from the time of arrival at the location to the time of their final departure.
